R.I.P. Jeff Pettit. You were the King of Bates Avenue. Your door was always open and your kindness on display. The back yard pool sessions were epic, the front yard wrestling matches were hilarious, and sittin on the porch bullshittin and gettin a buzz was the best. I cannot believe I will never look at you again, and I will miss you the rest of my days on earth, but I have awesome memories of you forever. Love you my brother.

This Saturday Fond Object plans to celebrate their one year Anniversary and Record Store Day. They will have eight bands playing JP5, the Tendoor, Buffalo Clover, Kings of the F**king Sea, Fly Golden Eagle, Promised Land Sound, The Misfruits (Turbo Fruits covering Misfits) and PUJOL. There will be food from Super Dogs and Tacos Andreas, beer from Star Hill Brewery and Little Harpeth Brewery, a Tiki Bar provided by The Stone Fox, Isle of Printing Portrait Cart, Pop Up booths by Palber Records, Infinity Cat Records and Hail Dark Asthetic, a local fashion sample sale and their very own petting zoo!

Do615: What RSD release are you most excited to get your hands on? Why?
Jeff Pettit: DEVO: Live At Max's Kansas City - November 15, 1977. I have always been a huge fan of those Spudboys. This early live document should be a real scorcher.
Do615: What was your first vinyl record you purchased? Do you still have it?
JP: I think that it was Dr. Demento's "Dementia Royale". I got it though mail order and yes, I still have it.
Do615: Will there be any new local music releases you are most excited about on RSD?
JP: I am very excited about the new Pujol "Circles" 7".
Do615: Why do you think buying records is so popular in the Digital Age?
JP: Well, it's a lot of things. Sound quality, artwork, and the feeling of having something tangible. Plus, you can't beat the ritual of playing a piece of vinyl. It's an experience that an MP3 just can't compare to.
Do615: In your vinyl collection, what is one record that always puts you in a good mood?
JP: The self-titled album by John Zorn's Naked City always puts a smile on my face.
