Film after film: Falcon Lake (dir. Charlotte Le Bon, 2022)

Initially, I was bummed by the ending, which implies, though never confirms, a seemingly tragic and ambiguous conclusion to the otherwise cheerful story. I still don't know if I like it, since, in the last minute, it makes the film be about something else than an encounter between two teenagers, their budding sexual attraction, which is presented here with so much flair. There's a ghostly element here, one that plays out as a folk tale, or gossip, and I really liked how it stayed this way, appearing briefly in the way that reminded me of A Ghost Story.
