Lifting up he couldn’t reach the box that was at the top of the closet he wanted to get it. He was tired of housing the items that Nick had left behind he wanted to get rid of them. Get rid of the ghost that was lingering in the closet and haunting every time he’d have a date come back to his place. Nick was a sore spot for him, it wasn’t his fault. Nick was just busy pursuing his life and left Jeff behind to do it.. all Jeff was doing was trying to move on from it

We're all a year apart. I'm 16, Rydel's 15 and so on. We all play in a family band in our spare time; When I'm back at home, I dorm at an all boy boarding school. It's fucking awesome!! Notes: Sometimes all Jeff can do is break down

At night, when Jeff should be sleeping, he thinks about the last night he saw his best friend alive. Nick had just gotten his license and even though curfew was in effect for them, since they where under age and all, they had decided to sneak out and have some fun.

Jeff was actually the one to convince Nick, saying it would be fun. And it was, until the drunk driver hit them head on. Nick was thrown from the car and was dead on impact. Jeff, unfortunately, survived, though most nights he asked himself why.

Such as tonight.

Tossing and turning back and forth the only voice he could hear was Nick's. Asking him why Jeff lived while Nick died, and why Jeff got to face his dreams head on while Nick's was taken from him.

Jeff had no answers for the voices in his head. He tried drowning them out with music (and the nurse finally took his CD player from him, his Ipod being confiscated his first night at the center), and drugs (legal and the illegal kind, both made him feel funny), and even emotional eating but found nothing could drive Nick away.

He sat in his bed, staring at the ceiling, trying to talk himself out of doing what was on his mind. He knew it would fix nothing in the long run, except make Nick leave him alone, but did he really want Nick to leave him alone?

He was forgetting what his best friend sounded like and home videos and pictures could only do so much for him.

He flopped over and sobbed into his pillow, brokenly repeating, "I'm sorry" to someone who could no longer hear him.
