I Won’t Hurt You

Jefferson x Gender-Neutral Reader

Word count: 272

A/N: Requested by a lovely anon!  I got the prompt “I’m not like them, I won’t hurt you” “I know, I know you won’t” from @pleasepromptme!  This is my first ever writing Jefferson, and I’m so nervous I really hope I wrote him okay.  It’s also my first time writing for Once Upon A Time, and I definitely wanna write more for it!  This is also the last piece of writing I’m posting before the convention!

You and your best friend were thick as thieves, and had been for years.  You would always be there for each other, especially when others failed you.  You could rely on them, and they could rely on you.  Or so you thought.

They called you, said everything was too much, that you would both be better off without each other.  You didn’t know what to say.  They were the one to hang up, leaving you staring dumbly at your phone.

Who the hell does that?

You understood that sometimes relationships end.  But this?  This was different.

Who the hell tells their supposed-to-be best friend that they’re better off alone?  After all the tears, fights, laughs, secrets and everything in between, why?  Just...why?

You were contemplating this the day after it happened when Jefferson walked in.  He knew what had happened and had come by to keep you company.  At least, he was trying.

You gave him short, curt responses, if you responded at all.  You had your guard up; no use in letting yourself get hurt again, right?

“I’m not like them,” he said after a long silence.  “I won’t hurt you.”

“I know,” you choked.  “I know you won’t.”

When you looked at him, the pain and sorrow in your eyes, on your face, was too much for Jefferson to bear.  He wrapped you in a tight hug, stroking your hair and rocking you back and forth.  Apologies spilled from his mouth, even though you both knew it wasn’t his fault.  He told you it would get better, and promised he’d help you and make you feel better whenever you needed.

Wildflower (Part One)(Jefferson)

Request from Anon.  I couldn’t help myself and start a story. I’ve been rewatching OUAT and fell in love all over again. So this is a gift from me to you :)

She had been new to Storybrooke, sort of like the new kid at that playground and everyone wanted to play with her. She had made many friends, even landing a job with Mary Margaret to help as a teacher’s aid. It didn’t take her long to realize the irony in Storybrooke, finding the uncanny similarities between her favorite storybook characters to the many friends she had came to make. 

Some were harder to figure and some were blatantly obvious. Little Henry had taken a strong liking to the newcomer, sharing his information on the townsfolk with her. 

Eleanor sat on a park bench, smiling as she watched the kids run and play. She waved back to one of her favorites, Grace, as the little girl frantically waved both hands while she slid down the biggest slide there. She laughed as the girl screamed in good fun on the way down, shaking her head,she mouthed the words, you did it!

“You’re rather good with children, aren’t you?” 

She jumped at the voice that startled her, turning her head, she rose a brow at a man she had rarely seen since her stay in the quaint little town. “I adore children,” she spoke cautiously. 

“And they adore you back, I see.” The man took a seat next to her, a purple scarf adorned around his neck while the rest of his clothes were dark made an odd contrast but Eleanor had a feeling that his personality matched perfectly to his dark style. “Tell me, Eleanor, do you have any children?” 

Eleanor squinted her eyes, it didn’t strike her as odd for him to know her name. She knew word traveled fast around the people of Storybrooke but it still sent shivers down her spine. “Uh, er, no, I don’t.” 

“Pity. You’d be a wonderful mother.” 

Shifting in her spot, she pursed her lips, trying to pick the right words in not meaning to be rude. “I’m sorry,” pressing a half attempted smile, “who are you? Are you a father to one of my students?” Eleanor hadn’t quite met all the parents of her kids but she knew most. 

A wave of sadness washed over his handsome face for such a quick moment that Eleanor had almost missed it. Smiling back at her, the crinkles in his eyes widened as he stuck out his hand, “Jefferson. And that is for me to know and for you to find out.” 

Gently taking his hand in hers, she rose a brow. “Jefferson,” she murmured. Running through the list of people through her hand that Henry had explained, Jefferson hadn’t been brought up. Of course the young man had a mile long list of residents that he was going through to figure out their real identities. “Should I be concerned, Mr. Jefferson? The safety of these children is something very serious-”

“-you mustn't be concerned,doll.” He answered, “I promise one of these children is mine, however, they do not know it.” 

Eleanor glanced back at the crowd of children that were running and chasing one another. “You are not welcomed in their life?” 

Jefferson chuckled, “I was taken from their life.” Standing up, he flickered a look towards the girl. “It was nice chatting with you, Eleanor. I do hope we get to meet again. It’s exciting to talk to someone who brings a breath of fresh air to your lungs.” Bending down, he picked up her hand and placed a firm but light kiss on the top of her dainty knuckles. “I wonder if I’ll keep you awake at night in attempts of finding what my identity is.” 

Her mouth hung slightly open as he gave her a smirk. “Uh, er, um, what?” 

He shook his head, backing away slowly. “You are aware of these town’s little secret, yeah?” All Eleanor could do was nod, “Splendid. Tell you what, Eleanor. You come find me when you’ve figured it out. I have a grand house at 316, we can have some tea and crackers.” Jefferson gave her a wink before spinning on his heel and walking away but not before taking a longing look towards the giggling little girl who happened to be Eleanor’s favorite.

hiii, omg i love your writing. i could seriously read it forever!! i was wondering if you could maybe write me a Jefferson fic? it doesn't have to be smut just a story about how a girl stumbles into storybrooke. could you use my name too? it's eleanor. thank you!!

Hmmm, Jefferson story eh? That could work, I’ll get my creative juices flowing! :) I’ll add it to the list.
