Hey Justin. First off, I want to say you are such a beautiful human being and I love the way you express yourself/your gender and it just makes me smile so much. Now, a question: Is there a secret to confidence about looks? I am a FTM transperson and being confident in my skin gets very hard at times, even when i know who I am and I know I can be who I want to be, but its just hard for me to be confident about it. Do you have any tips and tricks? <3

In the Social Hierarchy us Humans are so attached to, confidence is a valuable commodity. There’s:

Projected Confidence - the “fake it till you make it” kind. This is the most common, and it’s the least sincere,  since you must practice/rehearse to get it right.

Experience Based Confidence - appears the most reliable but potentially destructive if your experience is crappy/limited!

Blind Confidence -the “I’m so great how can I fail?” This style is super dangerous and can get you killed…but might just land you the presidency? so… who’s to say?

Confidence can get you places sure, but at the end of the day it’s love that will sustain you. Self love is our most powerful tool! Remember, as Trans folk we’re not supposed to love ourselves! So when we do? it totally flies in the face of our oppressors and we can focus on creating a kinder, gentler world instead of the same old ruthless nonsense they want us to get used to!

Typically people choose the former because it’s way easier to practice (I’m definitely not an expert in Self Love!) But kindness will take you farther. I can’t recommend this book enough.Also jeggings. Invest in jeggings.
