So we're starting #sq26 as we mean to go on, with some art for a friend. The wonderful @maplesdonut wrote such a gorgeous Christmas fic with the super talented @queststar, and ofc I only read it well into the new year. It's giving modern nativity (there's no room a the inn), omg they were roommates, and so much family fluff I think I got tooth decay. Anyway, if you missed it, I'd get yourself re-festive on this January weekend at Once Upon A Christmas Eve

This lil painting is my first piece for the wonderful @fanartfrenzy event, which I am not going to be completionist about, promise. My personal aim is at least one bingo line, at least three pieces in January, and if the need to finish screams too loudly, then a complete card by the end of the year. Bingo card below - come yell at me if you've got a good rec that fills any gaps - or if you want some art for a friend who doesn't get enough love!

one of the parts of @fanartfrenzy that I love the most is the encouragement to read fics which you otherwise may not have stumbled across. I'm not really an angst/hate or very short fic kind of person but JuniorWoofle's fic One of these days, maybe your magic won’t affect me (And your kiss won’t make me weak) fills both of these gaps in my readership brilliantly. I loved the idea of both their hike and their heated kiss afterwards, so wanted to sketch the calm before the storm

Today we hosted choir friends for Choir Craft Club, and I chose to continue my @fanartfrenzy streak, with a solo Emma Swan the delivery driver (I mean, with that leather jacket, it's inevitable, right?)

This was an entirely new read to me, and I enjoyed the tension so much I read the entire thing in one sitting. So I can only recommendl Deliver Me by Wistful Watcher

Excitingly, this means I've now got a line on my bingo card (see below the cut). But I've enjoyed it so much I'm certain I'll be going for a full house without a deadline. So thanks to the organisers for such a fun event!

My second piece for @fanartfrenzy's fantastic month of art! This is for a longterm favourite of mine - the fic that made me want to write about Swan Queen after a long hiatus from both writing and ouat - warm blood by MoonlightViolet - it's got fluff, smut and yearning in spades, go have a read if you haven't before!

(I also really wanted to draw an octopus, so sue me)

I read Kurt's absolute masterpiece of a SQSN fic i know that you can love me (when there's no one left to blame) last week, and let me tell you what?! You have to go and read - it is such a mature and nuanced take on Emma's darkness. He made me feel things with every moment, but this one moved me so much I just had to draw it!

We had a bit of a chat on art styles, and this came out fully formed in no time, because his writing style is so vivid, it caught my imagination on fire!
