okay. everyone just listen. just listen. is this far fetched and self indulgent and probably not very accurate.. yes. does it mean a lot to me? also yes.

shauna, shane, bella, joe, donna and maren all hate who they are. a part of them will always resent the way that words come out of their mouths, the way that other people look at them. they follow because it's easier to latch onto someone who can swim rather than drown. they all need something more. recognition, acceptance, advancement, control, appreciation, love. it will never be enough.

mari, ilya, jacob, delilah, laura and lee all put their walls up. they mask their deepest fears with witty remarks and charming laughter. they bury their insecurity about their loneliness, their sexuality, their supernaturalness, their past, their trauma, their hunger, under layers of confidence that they don't have. they act strong because they aren't, and take others along that path with them, for better or for worse.
