2: What scene did you first put down? The very first scene I put down was actually the first scene of chapter one, this little fucker:
Mickey had his head tilted back, staring up at the building across the street. One hand was resting along his forehead trying to shield the sun from burning into his eyes, the sun reflecting off the high rise windows sharply in all directions. The other hand was curled around the black strap of the messenger bag hanging loosely off his shoulder, nervously adjusting it every few seconds.
That was the first thing I wrote and I remember agonizing about how to start it, because writing the first line of the first chapter of a new fic is always challenging. I write all my chapters in order (surprisingly), but within the chapters itself is where I skip scenes and flesh out other parts of the chapter and then go back and fill in the blanks.
11: What do you like best about this fic?I guess……the universe it’s set in? I like how everything is set up and how I’ve kept it RELATIVELY angst free, just making sure everyone is happy and that their relationship is healthy.
Also how much Ian loves Mickey???? Like….if you’re not having Ian worship the ground he walks on wyd????
14: Is there anything you wanted readers to learn from reading this fic?Not really? I mean if you learned some new recipes and how to make mac n’ cheese than that’s sick, but it wasn’t my intent. I just wanted to write a cute little AU where Mickey was a passionate chef……..and here we are, I have an AU that’s not so little, but still cute.
15: What did you learn from writing this fic?I’ve learned a looooot actually. I’ve grown a shit ton as a writer by working on this fic and as you read the story you can actually see my progression and how I get better and better as it goes on (at least in my opinion lmao). Like, I literally went from writing 4k-5k chapters to regularly posting 10k+……not that length has anything to do with performance ;] ;] BUT!!! I’ve gotten more confident, that this is something that I can actually do and do it well.
