I have furiously devoured almost every one of your xiyao fics and I'm particularly in love with beg, bite, kiss and object permanence but also ace meng yao *chefs kiss*. I don't know if you still write for them but your fics have scratched my xiyao itch.

wowowow thank you so much!!!!!!! I had so much fun writing all three of those. I'm tagging @madamelapin because beg bite kiss was so hugely inspired by our conversations and she deserves the credit too!!! me and @littlesmartart loved working on the ace meng Yao fic. it meant an awful lot to both of us as ace artists and I adored collabing with them!!!

Im not writing xiyao at the moment but who knows, I might come back to them. I haven't burned so fiercely for a ship since.

My dad was ranting about Trudeau letting ISIS fighters back into Canada and spending tax dollars for their reintegration. I was wondering if you heard of this and if you have anymore info about it.

Its misinformation.

The fact is that it is required by Canadian law to let foreign fighters return to Canada, because they are Canadian citizens. All Canadian citizens have a right to return to Canada.

Once they are returned they continue to be surveilled by the RCMP/CSIS/etc, and put through de-radicalization programs.

The fact is that a lot of these ISIS fighters in Canada making the news now were admitted during the Harper Government:

Hi, I was wondering if you've seen the picture with piglets in tiger costumes lying on top of a tiger. One of my prof used it as an example of cross fostering and he said that the zoo wanted to use it to improve the tigers maternal instincts because she lost a cub. I was wondering what your thoughts are on this? It seems rather reckless and unethical to me to pair a prey species with a large predator. Plus i think the facility is questionable as well.

... I’m sorry, but what? I can’t believe your professor a) actually used that in a class and b) fact-checked so minimally as to actually think that’s true. And they say millennials are the ones will believe anything we read on the internet... 

You’re right that the situation was incredibly irresponsible - prey animals should never be put in with large predators like that. It was a publicity stunt, as are most situations like that in the media (the tiger costumes are a dead give-away), and did nothing for the tiger’s “maternal instincts”. 

There are times zoos will set up animals to foster orphan babies, but it’s always within the same taxa - it was groundbreaking when a Siberian tiger cub was recently introduced to (and accepted by) a Sumatran tigress, as normally those sorts of fostering situations are only attempted with animals of the same species.
