right now jem is at a point where he is like. schrodinger's transgender. him being born a guy with klinefelter syndrome IS important esp in regards to his relationship w his body (his chest especially, w/ his gynecomastia) but going from cis to nonbinary and/or transfem isnt unrealistic. i cant rly see a transmasc jem anymore tho so sorry if thats what u were expectinf LOL
mick i think could work as either transmasc or transfem but i chose transmasc for these doodles bcuz Fat Hairy Bears 🫶 while his canon storyline nowadays in regards to being queen is very centered on the loneliness of being a gay man with a closeted bisexual father, i think it translates to other identities pretty well without completely changing the overarching narrative and relationship mick has w/ his dad as he grows into early adulthood. its more flexible than jem's
and like yeah trans aus dont have to be that deep but i prefer to think about how it would affect them beyond their identity because of the social context they live in (1980s-1990s appalachia)
