Inspired by @mikkalia. Finally got around to actually doing this.

I write mostly in a small fandom so my numbers aren't huge but honestly it doesn't matter. I enjoy writing and getting stuff out there for people to read.

I picked kudos as my metric for most popular. "feel what you do to me" stats are literally for the whole year of 2025: it was posted on New Year's Day. It's my contribution to the fascination with Bode's gloves our little fandom has.

For my favorite fic of the year, I picked "underneath this bowl of stars," which has neither the highest kudos or hits of my favorites (truly it was hard to pick just one) but it's the most self-indulgent one. Honorable mentions: scrapper, follow and chromium orange and sistrum and lute.

Hopes and wishes for Jedi game three!

I try not to guess too hard at upcoming games/movies/books I'm looking forward to; I don't want to be disappointed, and my guesses are never close to the actual thing. That being said: I really hope Cal doesn't die in Jedi 3. I hope he gets to have, after much personal suffering, of course, a happy ending, or at least a happier ending than most Star Wars characters get. I started out a MerriCal shipper, so if Cal and Merrin and Kata all make it to the end of Jedi 3 I will be overjoyed. Please devs just give us one relationship that doesn't end in tragedy.

I also feel like they've laid the groundwork to have us play as Kata for a little while, like we played as Cere while Cal was out of commission on Jedha. I guess that would be an easy way to reintroduce the gameplay mechanics, as someone who's learning them too. I just don't want it to be a little Cal gameplay then only Kata. We started these games with Cal, I want to finish them as Cal. These games are the only ones that make me feel like I'm a Jedi, and sure it's just projection, but I want that feeling to continue with Cal as the playable character.

And then there's Tanalorr. I'm sure those of us fic writers have mythologized Tanalorr into more than the devs perhaps intended, but it sure would be fun if we learn more about the planet. Why is it trapped behind the Abyss? Is there an actual Force presence there, Dark or Light? Why is everyone so obsessed with it, if there's not something drawing people there?

There's one little thing that I'll throw in but I doubt will actually happen: I'd love to see Cal learn from those in his past, either via Force ghosts or echoes of his mentors/friends. Yes, this is my self-indulgent wish that we could see Bode again in canon. I really don't think this will come about, but it makes sense to me. But we've already established that I never manage to figure out the plot beforehand (see: how flabbergasted I was at the dual twists in Survivor), so take my ideas with a large pinch of salt.

Oh lordy. You know that meme of "I wouldn't say I'd won the lottery but there would be signs"? Yeah. I'd have to add a room to the house, said room would just be a library, but that library would have a baby grand piano, a bookshelf with a ladder and a secret passage, stained glass, and a fireplace (that's more than three things but we're counting the whole room as one, shhh).

Two would be making an outdoor patio strung with fairy lights and a firepit.

Three would be redoing the bathroom so it's not so 60s pink (make it blue and green instead).

I'm also assuming I have the next two weeks off and can read all of these before they need to be returned, lol. I'm scanning the sci-fi/fantasy shelves for older books from my favorite authors. I'm finding shifter romance and the first book in a mystery series. Might even look for some pop-sci nonfiction.

3. what's the best job you've ever had? I've had surprisingly few (paying) jobs in my life. A couple as a teen, a couple work-study jobs in college, and a position in three different labs (though doing mostly the same thing, and all at the same place). Honestly the best job was the work-study one where I manned a desk at the athletic complex, checking out basketballs and towels to folks using the gym. I could literally study when no one was asking for anything, and I got a really nice winter coat out of the lost-and-found after it had been there for the whole year. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy my lab job, but it was nice to have a low-responsibility position that was necessary but still let me study/read during downtime.

18. have you ever changed fields in your career or education? I knew what I wanted to study in college well before I started. I didn't end up being too great at it, so I'm not actually using my degree in my job, but oh well? I've been here in this lab for over 20 years, so I must be doing something right. The benefits are good, the pay is…better than it was, and the people I work with are awesome and incredibly smart.

20. what's your favourite beverage? Most of the time I just drink water. I do like a good strawberry lemonade, but that's very seasonal. If we were talking adult beverages, I guess I'd go with mead, but since that's very unusual to find on a drink menu, I'd go with some sort of rum cocktail.

30. what's your living arrangement? (who do you live with, in what kind of building, do you own or rent or other?) I have a mortgage, lol, and it's just me and darling hubs and our cats.

Do you have a reading nook? I feel like you’d have a reading nook

I do in fact adore the idea of drinking something sweet and cinnamon-spiced while comfortably warm when there's weather outside (I would also take a rainy Sunday afternoon, but not during torrential rain). Unfortunately it doesn't snow here nearly enough, so my chances for doing this are low.

I don't currently have a reading nook, though (my house is too small for the bay window I've always desperately wanted). I have to settle for the sofa with a lot of pillows, but I still dream of the blanket-over-heating-vent that I had in my childhood home.

3: If we're getting literal about it: Summer Breeze by Seals and Crofts. Less literal? How the Day Sounds by Greg Laswell. Vaguely summer in a galactic way: Inama Nushif from the Sci-Fi Channel's Dune miniseries.

Bonus unasked for fall feels since it's now spooky szn: I can only listen to Thriller in the fall. It's a great song, but wildly overplayed, and I have to be in the mood to hear it (read: Halloween time). Also you may have seen how I consider this a St. Louis song solely because it features Vincent Price, so I give it a pass if I hear it outside of the season, but I'll generally skip it if it comes up on a playlist at another time of the year.

6: La Copa de la Vida (Spanish version) by Ricky Martin. Come on, who can listen to this song and not want to get up and dance? Especially now, for me, since we finally got a soccer team (Go CITY)

28: Você Existe Em Mim by Josh Groban. The only way I'll ever learn a little Portuguese and I love his pop-operatic vocals.
