Hoooooly crap this took a while, but Jennelle, my other Look Outside OC, is DONE! I also wanted to do something special for her since it took a while, so I made a gif!

OH WELL, IF YOU INSIST~

(Not pushy at all tbh I've been waiting to properly introduce them. I was going to do so on their ask blog but since you asked 🤭😚)

Jennelle and Arla have been living together for about 7 years now. Arla is in her early 30s, and Jen is in her late 30s. They met at a park where Jennelle took Arla's favorite duck-watching spot (Arla wasn't thrilled, but compromized.) They eventually opened up to each other, and that started a very good friendship. Once Jen finished her degree, they moved in with each other and became a sort of surrogate family.

Jennelle

was an only child with extremely strict parents who wanted her to grow up and get a well-paying job. She was hardly allowed to have any hobbies, but found a passion for sewing and creating garments as one of her options in highschool. She eventually rebelled and left her family home in Winnapeg, Manatoba, to Toronto to attend OCAD, which is where she first met Arla, who was busy keeping away from her own family. They moved together to Montreal (cheaper) where Jennelle found a job as a seamstress while designing clothing on the side.

Jennelle has always been very friendly and courteous of the people in their apartment building, often offering to help others moving heavy objects or cooking meals when someone is going through a rough time, just the best neighbour.

One day, Jennelle opens the curtains only to see something indiscribable in the sky. In her shock, she managed to close the curtains and stumble into the bathroom as she began to change. During the events of the game, Jennelle is more low-key worried about the changes in Arla and others in the apartment rather than herself. This is partially a short-term distraction for her as she'd rather not think about what she looks like now.

In-Game encounter:

I imagine Jennelle being a door encounter, where she asks Sam if she/he/they can help find Arla as she went off and hasn't been back for a day or so. Sam would have the option of just straight-up murdering Jennelle if she/he/they wanted to, but this could result in a bad ending for Arla.

Arla (and Checkers(?))

Was born in Red Deer, Alberta along with her twin sister, but was soon moved to Calgary when her sister received a diagnosis for a terminal illness. When they were still going to school together, Arla would be the one to beat up anyone who made fun of her gentle big sister. She, as you could imagine, was always getting into trouble.

Things became much more strained in her family once her sister was admitted to the hospital for treatment. Her parents began to ignore Arla in favor of her sister, but Arla did her best to be good (except when she attempted to sneak the family African Grey, Checkers, into the hospital to visit her sister. She was scolded pretty badly for that.)

Once her sister passed away when Arla was 15, she started getting into trouble again, but this time, it was much more serious. There was usually one phone call home every day to her parents who were already exhausted and grieving, often resulting in loud screaming matches once she got home. Once Arla graduated highschool, she took Checkers and went as far away as she could from her parents, getting a uni degree and meeting with Jennelle.

They eventually moved in together, and Arla currently is the store manager for an independently-owned aquatics shop. She tends to ignore (or glare at) most of the neighbour's, but will always help out if asked. The only things she is openly affectionate with are animals in the apartment, and only if she thinks no one is watching. She is pretty closed-off from most people.

One day, she walks into the bathroom to find her roommate changed into a weird giant fish with her organs flopping all over the place. Reasonably freaking the fuck out, she runs back into her room where it takes 2 days of coaxing from Jennelle to get her out and to see how Checkers is doing. She doesn't know what is now in her pet birds cage, but she (unwisely) attempts to pet it, sending a jolt down her arm. Ever since, she has been unable to be too far away from Checkers(?) for any length of time.

In-Game Encounter

Assuming Sam goes to Jen and Arla's floor after the door encounter with Jen, Sam and his party will have to fight through an unearthly jungle where your own thoughts are whispered back to you and the ceiling seems to vanish into the void.

Sam will find some form of aggressive Venus fly-trap being where they can pull Arla out (or just let her and Checkers get slowly digested 😬). Once she regains consciousness, Arla will curtly thank Sam and can be convinced to temporarily join the party in order to fight their way back out.

After they get back to the hallway, Arla thanks Sam and the party again before rushing back towards her apartment. If Sam follows her, he'll find Arla in a (one-sided) fight with Jennelle, who is completely unphased by her anger. It is revealed that the reason Arla was out in the first place is because Jennelle wanted her to get more "materials" for her.

After getting beyond frustrated, Arla offers to come "kick somethings ass" with Sam, if same talks with Jen, she tanks them sincerely and offers to repair any one item in the inventory for no charge.

This is mostly re-written from older asks but it's the all-in-one up-to-date base lore for these ladies. I hope it's enough for you. 💀

Do you know how Jennelle would be like in a fight?

Not in terms of a party member. I planned Jennelle as more of a background/flavour-text OC if she was anything.

I'd say as a possibly-antagonistic character, if you decide to antagonize her, Jennelle's choice of weapon would be the mass of long threads that has replaced one of her arms: she'd stab and tangle you up in them, then strangle you until you pass out- unless you manage to cut yourself free.

If you're lucky, you'll die in a conventional way. If not, you will be stuck in your own un-decaying and unresponsive corpse until time stops, being chopped and pulled apart, sewn together with others, as well as rearranged and posed until time stops or Jennelle gets bored with you. :)
