Jenny isn't doing super well tonight . She couldn't get up to get her dinner , my dad had to carry her . Once she is helped up and starts moving around she does move okay . After she's been laying down she struggles to get up her back end is just weak , arthritis in both legs. Her "good leg" seems to be painful and when she first gets up she is hesitant to bear weight on it . But her "bad leg" (previous cruciate tear) can't support her full weight so she just can't push her back end up. Can't get up onto the couch or into the window , can't go up or down stairs. Has 0 self preservation so she won't stop trying to do these things - which brings us to the current x-pen situation. She's not pleased with me but at least she won't be climbing things or falling down stairs . She just went to the vet so I'm hoping I can call tomorrow and they'll let me just pick up some Metacam and Rimadyl . This happened at the end of the summer and she did start to feel better after a while . So fingers crossed it's just a bad arthritis flare up. She'll be 14 in July so if it's something other than arthritis we will be making serious considerations regarding quality of life . We don't want her living in pain. I know she's old but I hope we aren't at the point where we have to make that tough choice . 😢
