He watched him walk towards the tavern where he had just been told to not go, and not to do what he was probably about to do. What was it with this boy and never listening to what he was told? It was like it just made him even more into doing it. Part of him pondered on if he should just walk away and let him have all that he knew was coming to him, the other part of him knew the earful he would get form Dashi, Carri and probably Jonah and his sister if he did.
“Where’s the boss?” “Eh kid, you do not belong here.” “I asked you a question.”
Ellis tried his best to keep his tough look he was sure he had, to make them answer his question. He was not going to be pushed over by some silly pirates after all.
“It’s your head kid.”
They motioned through he door, letting him walk inside, mostly watching the large character that came walking behind him.
“Really kid?” “Really.” “Now you come into my home, and threaten me unless I give you a jewel you think is yours?” “Yes…”
He heard the telltale sounds from weapons being drawn all around him as a chuckle came from the lady in front of him.
“I’ll give you that you have ball’s kid, but that’s not going to be enough….”
Ellis crossed his arms, trying his best to look intimidating, and still sure of his cause, even though part of him thought about running.
“I want that gem.”
There was a murmur around him, the ones he had noticed coming closer to him seemed to stop and instead take a very vary step backwards. He heard steps, and as they got closer, the murmur increased as did the retreat off those around him, weapons being put away again.
“No wonder you had the guts...” “Give the boy the gem, it’s not yours to keep”
The voice sent shivers down his spine and he knew this would be such a bad day now. He did notice however that even the captain seemed scared of the person he knew was behind him, holding out the gem.
“I told you it...” “Out, now.”
He lowered his head, the words hitting about as hard as a fist to the face, the tone of voice was one he hated more than anything else. It wasn’t the screaming of anger voice he would normally get from someone, it was scary and angry.
He felt a light slap over the back of the head as he started walking, only once trying to turn around to say something feeling a hand on his shoulder forcing him to keep walking the right way. Sneaking one look back, noticing all the pirates pointing at Mako and whispering between them.
“Why were they all scared off you?”
He didn’t get an answer, just a look that made him take a step back as the tall Au Ra walked away from him. Hanging his head, he walked towards the one place he knew he was always welcome, and where he could probably get someone to talk too.
