Enjoying her iced coffee without the interruption of a familiar face is too much to ask for apparently. When was the last time she’d seen him? It had to be over a decade now, but Jericho Adroa isn’t the kind of person you forget. He’s older now, they both are, and she’ll admit, age looks good on him. “You can stop staring and come say hi. I’m not going to bite,” Simone rolls her eyes at how silly this whole thing is. Maybe they’re not friends anymore, but surely they can be two adults about it. Plus, their whole friendship thing dissolved years ago. It has to be water under the bridge by now, right? They were just kids then, and he was just the neighbor of her father she’d visit during the summers against her will. Even if Jericho did make those summers more bearable when she traded her beloved New York for Colorado. Even if he had knew the real her, the one she kept so tightly under wraps - just not with him. Even if he was the one thing, the one person she always looked forward to seeing the most. Anyway, they grew apart. That’s what people do. It’s not like they were going to be best friends forever or anything.
