"Are those elephants?"
Memes pt. 6
so I’ve noticed that the royal family’s little setup only has 3 thrones… do you think Jerrod and Sindel just shared one..?
Edenian royal family HCs, part who even knows:
Sindel was the one who got the girls into martial arts and enlisted Li Mei's assistance in training. She'll be damned if she raises two daughters that can't defend themselves or throw hands if necessary.
2. Sindel was terrified for her marriage and more particularly, her wedding night. She was made aware of what to expect, but it did nothing to calm her fear. Plus the whole mess about the marriage not being legitimate if it wasn't consummated......
3. She was relatively young when she and Jerrod were betrothed (I HC them to have about 3-5 year age gap or whatever the equivalent is for Edenian), so the sudden change from childhood naivete to being expected to act, speak and carry herself in a more adult manner was.......a lot.
4. It was expected that Sindel would have a baby relatively early into her reign to secure her position. But the Outworld War happened and more pressing matters were on her mind, like making sure that the realm didn't fall apart.
5. Once OutWorld stabilized and her golden age started, so did the questions about her having kids. Lots of "you need to secure your throne" got thrown around. And a handful of "Jerrod didn't marry you to have an empty house" (he did express wanting a child, but only once she felt ready to do so.)
1. Most definitely. I'm sure Sindel comes from a strong family and probably have had to prove why they're strong. I agree, Sindel wasn't gonna raise her daughters to not throw hands. Especially after Jerrod was murdered. People were after her throne and would do anything to have it. Sindel wanted her daughters to be strong enough to defend themselves.
2. I can see that. I feel like Sindel would be anxious but also upset because it's an arranged marriage. At the time, she hated the arrangement.
3. I think Sindel and Jerrod are close in age, too. I think in the beginning of her reign, she kind of relied on Jerrod with a lot of the palace stuff. Based on her bio, she was stressed that she was ill prepared to rule. At the same time, I'm sure Sindel probably practiced her royal etiquette damn near her whole life to prepare her.
4. and 5. Yes. I hc that Sindel didn't get pregnant for a while. She discussed it with Jerrod, and he understood her decision. I feel like they both wouldn't want to raise kids if the realms were on the verge of collapsing. So, once the realms were secured and the people were safe, that's when Sindel had Mileena and Kitana.
I headcanon that Jerrod has done something like this before, and he let's Mileena and Kitana get to Sindel first.
Ermac vs. Tanya intro
Ermac: Empress Mileena is in your care now.
Tanya: By Delia, I pledge my life to her protection.
Can I just assume that what Ermac said came from Jerrod? (I know it probably isn't, but I think it would be sweet if it was.)
in the name of distracting myself, Edenian royal family headcanons:
Sindel didn't actually know she was pregnant for a while because she had virtually no symptoms. The only thing that was different was the fact that she couldn't stay awake to save her life. But she figured it was probably stress. It wasn't until Jarrod randomly mentioned her sudden bouts of intense fatigue to her that she went to the royal physician. Turns out, twins.
2. The colour coding of the girls started in infancy. Jerrod, in his quest to tell the girls apart, tied a pink ribbon around Mileena's ankle and a blue one around Kitana's. It was meant as an identification method for a sleepy dad, but the colour scheme stuck.
3. Jerrod was insistent that he be in the birthing chamber with Sindel, once she went into labour. The midwives and nurses tried to warn him off and tell him that childbirth was a "woman's thing" and he had no place there as a man. He did get his own way though.
4. Jerrod used to do the girls' night feeds to allow Sindel to get some rest. He'll never admit it,but once the twins got older and started sleeping through the night, he missed the feeding sessions.
5. Whenever possible,he would take the girls on his diplomatic trips. Partially to "broaden their horizons", but mostly in the name of bonding and teaching them diplomacy.
6. Sindel and her sisters fell out when one suggested that she get a full-time nanny so that she could focus on getting back to her pre-pregnancy body, then dropped a slick comment about men not having the patience to wait, so it'll be best if she snapped back as quickly as possible. Needless to say,the words hit her in her insecurities and she almost fought her sister.
(Sorry for answering this late. I've been a bit busy)
Thank you for sending headcanons
The color coding and night feeding headcanons are so cute.
I 100% believe Jerrod would want to be there in the birthing chamber to support Sindel and witness the twins' birth.
The last headcanon. Sindel would never let that slide, so I can see that happening. I don't think Sindel would even trust leaving the girls with a nanny. The only person I see the girls being with is Li Mei. Even then, Li Mei is a royal guard, not a nanny, so Sindel and Jerrod keep the girls with them at all times.
Sindel has patience, but I agree that the slick comment would piss her off. It would most likely be a back and forth, and someone interferes before it escalates.
Sindel sighing her way through an argument......she's so real for that. She's a "if I say 'wow, that's crazy' more than three times in a convo, that's a sign that you need to go" kind of girl. A "does this conversation have a point" kind of girl.
(Speaking of which, I don't think Jerrod and Sindel fight that much. Sindel knows that the fastest way to shut down a disagreement is to revoke his free pass to her and their bed. And since Jerrod is surprisingly quite fond of having his head between her thighs, he gives way. But they've never reached the point of screaming matches. They bicker and argue, but no screaming.)
Honestly, Sindel has zero filter and no time for bullshit. If someone's talking to her, she wants them to get straight to the point. She kind of just stands (or sits) there like:
And yeah, I don't think Sindel and Jerrod ever fought to the point they're screaming at each other. I feel like they're both mature enough to know when the argument is just pointless and not worth bickering back and forth. A few disagreements here and there, which is normal. Sometimes, it has to do with palace decisions, and maybe it has to do with family. (Like, I still want to know why Sindel banished her nephews and nieces from the court. I wonder if she did that when Jerrod was still alive.)
I feel like their arguments either end in a mutual agreement or Sindel wins 9 out of 10 times. But also, Jerrod really doesn't seem like the type to ever go against Sindel. She's in control, and he even said so in story mode.
"As always, Sindel, I am yours to command." Freaky asses, literally infront of everybody.
