Prototype collar for the axe is done and laced on. I like how well it fits, just need to figure out a better way to close it off at the end instead of just tied in a bow. Had some thinner leather, so I made a prototype sheath for my axe. Still need to stitch up the edge, but it turned out nice enough that I may just use this one. Finally got myself a nice axe. 3 1/2 pound Jersey pattern I found at the Westminster Antique Mall, hung on a hickory handle that I got from my late friend and mentor Dick Huntington. Handle was sanded and finished with boiled linseed oil.
