Okay I need to know more about Best Laid Plans because I see darklina x reader and I’m already sold

Best Laid Plans is a collab fic between me and @dreamlandcreations which started with one of us sending an ask to the other after which some speculations were started, headcanons were made until we decided we'd write the fic together.

The premise of the fic is that Alina, rookie officer of the Keramzin police force who, together with her best friend Mal, is put on the case of the Magpie and The Black Heretic.

Aleksander and Reader are both very skilled thieves and con artists in their own rights Aleksander having earned the nickname 'The Black Heretic' because he mostly steals religious imagery (everything from paintings to supposed bones that belonged to the Saints) and leaving black, smokey/shadowey imagery behind and Reader who has been nicknamed 'Magpie' because she steals everything that is shiny no matter where it came from or who it belonged to.

Alina and Mal are mainly on the case so they can watch and learn from the more senior agents like Zoya Nazyalensky, who leads the case, and Nikolai Lantsov her right hand man.

Reader first comes into contact with Alina when one of her heists is busted because she (intentionally or not) set of the alarm of the place she was stealling from.

Without knowing it, Reader decides that before she steals anything else, she is gonna make Alina hers. Whether it be as an associate so she has an insider or in a more romantic term, she doesn't really care. She wants to corrupt her.

Aleksander first meets Alina when he is scouting a museum to make a quick buck and almost gets caught by Alina and Mal who are also there to make sure no shenanigans happen. Aleksander is intrigued by her and decides to dig up information on her while preparing for his next con; Swindling an heiress out of quite the sum of money. What he does not know is that Reader is posing as the heiress to swindle the person he is posing as out of their money.

Somewhere along the line they realise what is going on and eventually join forces to corrupt their girl.

That is the gist of it and I can't wait until we've finished it and can finally share it
