Pink is for Blobfish is delightful. The photographs are all grabbed from other places and various photographers and I'm not going to lie, this one probably won't be a contender because of the quality of a couple photos. The iguana is either completely playing tricks on my eyes or is blurry and the dolphin could be a bit easier to see. That being said, the rest of the chosen photos are stunning and the formatting and cartoons save it.
The pages all have colored backgrounds behind the photos and for the fact sidebar, while the short description and cartoon fact are always against a black background. This allows the colors to stay bold and sharp while drawing the eye to the three different places. Each page has the same format, but I don't think it feels droning. The format works with a huge photo, smaller but very detailed cartoons and the sidebar. Jess Keating did a great job of pulling out which facts audiences will find the weirdest and most interesting and David DeGrand created illustrations that will snare readers and let them relate more to the content. By humanizing the cartoon animals a little bit, it really furthers the understanding of the scientific fact.
