It really hadn’t taken very long at all to find Jesse. There was after all, only one record store in town and given it was almost time for glee, and he was a consummate professional like herself, it was likely that he’d visit there at some point. After all, music just didn’t sound quite the same digitally. That and facebook was an easy source of finding your friends locations. She hadn’t exactly stalked him around the store either, she’d simply hovered between shelving units until he was in a prime position for an ambush.
“Hello Jesse.” she popped up from behind the records, what she would consider a friendly grin on her face as she did. “What a surprise to find you here, one would think you might have tagged yourself in on facebook, enabling anyone to find you. Of course, if you did I am completely unaware and it is a lovely coincidence that we are both here, at the same time, looking at the same records in fact.”
She stepped out from behind the shelves, coming around to his side with a perky bounce in her step as she did so.
“Speaking of happy coincidences, I’ve been meaning to speak with you about a problem that seems to be plaguing the two of us.” she stepped closer casually, lowering her voice as she picked up a record and pretended to read the song list on the back of it. “I’ve noticed online, that recently your sexuality has been coming into question and I am sure you have noticed I of course, changed my relationship status fairly recently.”
She paused, tilting her head as she continued to peruse the song list, lest anyone notice them and decide to listen in on their conversation. It was important to remain stealth like when approaching someone with a secret plan. She knew that part was important. She had googled it before she came.
“It would seem, that my boyfriend has turned out to be a fifty seven year old man in Texas and I’m sure you can imagine this is very unfortunate. I’m neither within his age range, nor am I in Texas….” she paused, looking up at him finally and bestowing him with her very best smile. “I thought we could work together on protecting your heterosexual reputation and keeping my catfish experience under wraps until it is time to release my memoir.”
