can I just say I really, really, don’t like Grace Blackthorn

Cassie said there would be one person dead by the end of Chain of Gold.

So what if the person dies because Jesse gets resurrected (successfully) and that person is basically a sacrifice for the resurrection.

In Annabel’s case, Tavvy’s kidnapping didn’t completely bring her back to life (because he didn’t die). Her consciousness (?) was basically trapped in her corpse until Arthur gave his “Blackthorn blood” i.e. his life, in which case she was mostly* a successful case of resurrection. 

Magnus said in Qoaad that “if you bring back a life, you must pay with something of equal consequence”. Now while he didn’t specify what that something is, he did mention the possibility of another life. (in Jace’s case it was Sebastian’s resurrection i.e. no one died for Jace, but remember Magnus didn’t specify what that payment was so it could be anything honestly)

If we make the assumption that Arthur is the “payment of equal consequence” (because Annabel and Arthur shares blood), and the assumption of someone dying for Jesse’s resurrection is true, that person should technically share blood with Jesse.

(Side note: No one died for Livvy’s resurrection but Magnus also said the spell didn’t work because her body wasn’t brought back at all so she technically wouldn’t pose as a contradicting case)

Which brings us to another question: who counts as “sharing blood” with Jesse?

Obviously Tatiana would be the most logical candidate because she literally gave birth to Jesse (and in Great Expectations Miss Havisham did die - even though the family tree says she didn’t die in 1903 but no one trusts the family tree lol). Grace wouldn’t cut it because Grace was adopted so while they share a common last name, they don’t share blood.

But you know who else shares blood with Jesse?

The Lightwoods. Tatiana was a Lightwood after all.

Now I am scared for the Lightwoods. 

*I said mostly because while her body was back and she was capable of higher thought processes, she was obviously not completely sane after the resurrection (in Ragnor’s words in Qoaad it could mean she had a “corrupted mind”, which I think might count as an unsuccessful case). But then it’s also hard to tell whether her insanity was caused by the resurrection itself, or by being trapped in her own dead body because of Malcolm’s failed first attempt, or because she endured massive amounts of torture before she died the first time.

I just realized...

The Whitechapel Fiend was set in 1888 and Lucie was already born, but in the family tree in Clockwork Princess, Lucie was said to be born in 1891.

And Lucie WROTE that family tree.

Lucie did you purposefully mess up that family tree or what.

*If The Whitechapel Fiend is correct then Lucie would be 15 in TLH, which would make much more sense if she met Jesse then.
