this took so long to finish you can see my style changing halfway through lol. it was super fun trying to include subtle family resemblances

artist notes: - ty's eyes are the same color as tessa's - lucie and livvy have the same hair color, while the rest of the brunette blackthorns have tessa’s hair - ash has sebastian’s coloring but clary/jocelyn’s features - alec, anna, and kit have the same blue eyes as will and cecily, but i actually picture kit's eyes to be lighter. i just draw too many blonde haired/blue eyed characters - the blackthorns were the most fun to draw :>

Max Lightwood: *dies in TMI*

Benedict Lightwood: *dies in TID*

Christopher, Barbara, and Tatiana Lightwood: *dies in TLH*

Robert Lightwood: *dies in TDA*

Alec, Isabelle, Maryse Lightwood: *sweats*

Camille, Magnus, Tessa, etc... saying Alec looks like Will and other Herondale predecessors.

Maryse who has deep blue eyes and jet black hair and birthed Alec, watching this:

Alec when he hears for the nth time someone say he reminds them of someone else:

An idea I one had was to make a set of Lightwood family pictures, with each being from a different year.

We start in the 80s with picture of just Maryse and Robert (maybe their wedding pic).

Then the next one in ‘89 with baby Alec.

Then one in ‘91 where little Izzy makes her first appearance.

Then maybe 1 to 3 intermediary ones from ‘92 to ‘97 to show Alec and Izzy go from babies to kids.

Then Max makes his first appearance as a baby in the ’98 portrait.

Jace gets added in 2001 (is that the right year?) when he comes to New York.

Then maybe a few from 2002-2006 showing Max grow into a kid as Izzy, Jace, and Alec become teens/young adults.

Then one in late 2007 without Max. Everyone is wearing white in this picture.

A few more pictures, Alec adds his kids and the kids’ fiancés slowly make their appearances and stick around.

I just think it could be neat. if I drew it, the sketches would be very rough, but i still think it would look cool.
