April 23, 2015: Kole Calhoun
If you’re only going to get one hit, you might as well make it count. The A’s used reliever Jesse Chavez as a spot starter last night, and he and the bullpen gave up just 1 hit to the Angels, but that was plenty for LA. Kole Calhoun’s 3rd inning homer was the sole hit for the Angels, but they take the game 2-0 (Drew Butera had reached on an error prior to the homer).
This was the 14th time in history a team had a homer and no other hits and still won. The A’s actually won one last year, beating the Rays 3-2 despite just a Brandon Moss homer.
