@jessehart where: tri-del v-day party when: very beginning of the night

often times alethea forgot that she was a part of tri-delta. really it had been just to please her mother - she had been a member meaning alethea was guaranteed a spot, but she rarely participated. like the planning of this party, she just showed up a little bit before hand to help put some things together (though it seemed like everyone else had it under control), and now was growing bored. it was the beginning of the night, meaning people were slowly trickling in and the party wouldn’t be getting started until later, and so alethea was slowly nursing a drink, glancing around a bit nervously every now and then. her outfit was definitely out of her comfort zone, which made her equally shy and empowered, and they were definitely in the need of something a bit stronger than just the drink in their cup. 

seeing jesse appear across the room, they were relieved, and attempted to make their way over in a casual manner until they were right in front of him. “hey! jesse.” she gave a smile, “uh good to see you again. can i get ya anything?”

ida wasn’t entirely sure what she was on about today. maybe it was that she couldn’t quite erase the other night from her mind, with jesse leaving her high and dry. maybe it was how pathetic he seemed over text that day, or perhaps just everything that had come out. either way her feet had carried her across the quad and toward alcott until she was knocking on room 202, praying that jesse would be the one to open the door. 

it was those two words - prove it - that kept bouncing around. she didn’t want to be the one to break. and maybe she wouldn’t, a bit of pressing and the game would be over by his doing. though whenever anyone threatened her with those two little words, she could never really say no. never really put it aside. jesse had chosen hot, and she figured she’d give him that exactly. “jesse, i know you’re in there.” she cooed into the door as her knuckles knocked against it again.

    “I knew he wouldn’t respond but I’m still disappointed.” Kian had undoubtedly started shit in the chat yesterday but he couldn’t be blamed for what happened after that. “It already a trainwreck before someone threw in FMK and his answer would’a just made it worse, that’s totally why.” A puff of smoke came out of his nose with a small snort. “I mean I wouldn’t have minded it but maybe you’re right; Mitch isn’t that cool.” Joking of course but Kian was aware his friends didn’t exactly like each other and in doubt, he did usually take Jesse’s part out of pure loyalty. Probably stupid, just like Jesse suddenly walking up to grab the cigarrette out of Kian’s hand. “Don’t--- Dude, stop playing. Don’t smoke ‘cause I smoke, it’s dumb.” Holding out his hand to get it back he raised his brows, continuing the other conversation anyway with a short laugh and a shrug. “I was curious though, so you know I fuckin’ asked him.” Well not about the girls, obviously. Why would he care about that?

@jessehart​ where: a bar around the resort when: first day of the trip

alethea wasn’t sure who was more excited about this trip, her or her mother. jennifer pierce had commented on how generous it was of the school to do this for its students, especially during such a tumultuous time. and that it was extremely generous of donovan hart to be such a benefactor. In fact, if she didn’t have to work she would have loved to come join for the trip, to provide her own hand in the well-being of the student body. alethea was just glad to be able to continue to escape her family home, taking what would have been three weeks of hell and chopping it down to one. but now she was stuck on a trip with ogden, not necessarily an easy time either. 

so, surprising to some, alethea found herself at the bar in the early afternoon. that was part of ski culture right? she’d been almost every year during new year’s since she was young, a family tradition that alethea both despised and look forward toward. she was less inclined, even skipping a year or two in high school, due to the risk of injury. but it had always been a way to ‘spend time as family’ and then actually just avoid them for the solitude of the slopes all day. despite all of this, alethea was nursing a winter sangria, when she noticed the very son of her mom’s not so subtle school board crush sitting just a few stools away. shifting from her seat they made their way over, giving him a quick once over. “so i guess i should be thanking you and your dad for rescuing my holiday break then?”

@jessehart​ when: sat nov 5  where: some party off campus 

there was a whooping in the basement of the house as ida made her way down the stairs, the smell of sweat and beer wafting amongst the bodies. she was two shots deep and carrying a cup mixed with gin and oj, but so far she was bored. that was until the cheers came again and her attention was directed toward her left. of course, there he was, jesse hart, collecting the cheers. a spout of a keg was between his lips as he chugged it down. so cliche of him, but also a little hot. seeing an opportunity, she smirked stepped up behind him, leaning in to press her lips against his ear. “so you think you can swallow huh?” she smirked, before stepping back away with him, her hand trailing across his shoulder.

there is a neediness in alethea that she's allowing herself to feel more of these days, to act on. impulses that she would usually swallow, turn away from because that's what they were supposed to do. their mother had never guided them that way, greer had turned away, or at least showed alethea to. and now...well what did they have to lose? so they know that there was someway to make the night better, guarantee a fun time. and usually alethea could find it with jesse hart. it was easy to spot him, and soon her feet carried her to his side. "how goes it jesse?" alethea tries to smoothly slide in, smiling. "the start of the semester everything you want it to be? looking for a homecoming court vote or nomination?"

was this rave supposed to be fun? maybe, but alethea was finding it hard to relax. not with knowing 'g' was behind it all. maybe she just needed to get drunker, or get high. but there was the nagging feeling that letting their inhibitions go would back fire in a dramatic way. alethea didn't love losing control, and it felt like she was on the brink of free falling off a cliff. pushing through some bodies, who definitely seemed to be having a better time than them, they search for a drink and some space, finding a random abandoned cup that they chug before leaning against the wall, trying to find some way to calm their breathing. that's when they notice jesse not to far from them, and though she should probably ignore him and just focus on not losing it momentarily, she offers him a tight smile. "i uh, like your fit." she points out, attempting normal conversation.
