JcInk Advanced Custom Member List

Thanks to the incredible Anna for allowing me to test on her gorgeous JcInk site, I am now able to offer an ADVANCED custom member list. This code will pull data from each member’s profile allowing you to stylize your member list! This advanced member list will require a bit more involvement on your end, but I hope everyone will LOVE it. It’s also important to note that this may be a little slow, as results only return when data from each member’s profile are received. Hopefully it won’t be too painful, though. Check back this weekend for the deets.

There are, of course, a few imperfections and some ‘nice to have’ features. This is hopefully a constant work in progress with YOUR help.

JavaScript & jQuery Overviews

Hey, guys! I took some time and wrote up some overviews for JavaScript & jQuery for those of you who might be interested in learning more about them. You can view them on A Thousand Fireflies (JavaScript / jQuery) or directly on github (JavaScript / jQuery).

I recommend starting with the JavaScript one regardless. It’s beefy but explains more in-depth details that are also applicable to jQuery (variables, functions, etc.)

Update 1.1 for JcInk Advanced Member List

Hey, folks! A significant update is incoming by 4pm Central Time and I wanted to give you some awareness in case your code breaks.

In helping someone set up their advanced member list, I found that some boards need or use <!-- |input_act| --> as a class on their body (and maybe other places), applying a ‘Members’ class whenever you’re on the member list page. This causes the members to append incorrectly. I will be updating the container with the ‘members’ class to now be 'custom-members‘. Fortunately, this should only affect CSS. If there any instances where you have used ‘.members’ in relation to the custom member list, please change it to ‘.custom-members’.

The instructions will be updated as well, and you can follow the change log for reference.

I apologize. This should have been a more specific name to begin with. Duh me!
