Ok so I caved and watched Goncharov, and... nobody told me that there was going to be so much symbolism with people lighting each others’ cigarettes?? Like, the way Katya lights Sofia’s, she doesn’t ask first, but she holds her hand in between the match and Sofia’s face so it doesn’t blow into her, which is just like how she doesn’t want to Say she cares about her, but obviously wants to look out for her. And how Goncharov lights his cigarette and Andrey’s with their faces like Right next to each other, like the familiarity. And how Mario flicks the lighter open in Goncharov’s face in a way that’s both threatening and showing off. Anywho, in this essay I will-
