John 12 : PICTURE IT!
Jesus- SUPERSTAR
Lazarus- former fan of Jesus who was promoted because of Jesus
Judas- one of the crew that is thinking of all the waste in the upcoming concert
Large crowd- fans of Jesus waiting for him and Lazarus
Chief priests and Pharisees- Bashers and some reporters that wants to sabotage Jesus' concert
Palm branches- signs of love and admiration towards Jesus
Donkey- limousine
Disciples- Jesus' crew in the concert
Greeks- applicants who wants to meet Jesus and work for him; they have the connection with Jesus' disciples
Father- the boss of Jesus; famous handler/manager that has a big influence all over the world.
9 Meanwhile, the fans of Jesus Superstar found out that Jesus was there and came, not only because of Jesus, but also to see Lazarus, whom he had promoted in becoming a rising artist.
10 So the bashers and reporters made plans to destroy Lazarus as well, for on account of him many of the fans were going over to Jesus Superstar and putting their faith and love in him.
13 They took out cards and signs of love and admiration towards Jesus Superstar and went out to meet him, shouting.
Whooh!! JESUS! WE LOVE YOU!! WHOOH!
14 Jesus found his limousine and rode.
19 So, the bashers said to one another, "See, this is getting us nowhere, look how the whole world has gone after him! He has many followers!"
20 Now there were some applicants who went to meet Jesus.
21 They came to Philip, who was from the same city as they were, with a request. "Sir," they said, "we would like to see Jesus"
22 Philip went to tell Andrew; Andrew and Philip, both Jesus' crew, in turn told Jesus.
WOW! Jesus is really a SUPERSTAR! and in order for us to serve him and to be a part of his crew, he only requires us to do one thing.
What is that one thing he requires us?
In Verse 24
Unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seed.
Die ourselves. Kill ourselves. Denying ourselves.- It means we should be selfless. Think not of yourself, but think of for the benefit of other and then you'll have success and abundance in your life.
IF NOT?
It remains only a single seed.
You'll be stagnant. You'll be unproductive and unfruitful which in turn makes you useless. You'll be alone and you'd be dead.
Main point:
26 Whoever serves me, must follow me; and where I am my servant will also be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.
