Yes, I watch a lot of "historical" Chinese Dramas, but I no longer bother to screenshot them because, honestly, after a while, they all tend to look alike (not only because the sets are often the same ones used).
But I saw this necklace about 2/3 through Unveil: Jadewind and had to go back and screenshot it because I want to make a necklace inspired by it.
And after that, since I had the keyboard shortcut memorized again, I just kept screenshotting through the remainder of the drama.
Overall, I liked it much more than Pursuit of Jade, mainly because I didn't want the romance to be the center of the story. I like a good story - and solving crimes/mysteries/murder is way more engrossing - with a side of romance, especially when it's a long, slow burn. While PoJ had a long, slow burn, it was too over the top on the longing and that was overall unsatisfying.
Except, it did produce one of my favorite cinematography shots:
Nice yin-yang symbolism there.
Ok, sure, all Cdramas have plot holes you can drive a space shuttle through, and though I am unsatisfied with the way the finale of the underlying mystery wrapped up, U:J was ultimately a cozy (haha, are any Cdramas cozy?) watch. Also, I am happy that we seem to have reached an era of happy (ish) endings, rather than tragic endings. My first few Cdramas years ago were all terribly tragic, and that's just not fun.
Meanwhile, I am now contemplating my favorite Cdrama tropes. Might be inspired to write a post about them. Maybe.
Protip: binge watching Cdramas while going through a week/month of high anxiety situations was the only way to turn my brain off.

I need to get a better/clearer shot of the Black Fairy, but I think I have an idea for a necklace that would mimic her head piece. But not today. After the holidays. Gotta get through this sale first and then surgery and then stupid Xmas and New Year’s. But she’s on my list. Along with Nemo.
