Imogen knew some of Jimmy’s baggage, whatever couldn’t help being pushed to the public eye. Failed marriage... but he and his wife weren’t soulmates. It was a risk, going against the whole idea and ideology of the soulmate system. There are people that thrive and then there’s people who just... really weren’t made for each other.
Imogen’s baggage was nothing like his, not even as heavy. Fear of failure hindered her but she simply didn’t see herself as soulmate compatible. It terrified her, actually. The thought of being so connected with someone; letting them have that sort of power over you. One word they can make your day great... one word they cold ruin your life. Still, his words were sweet. “...Being amazed by someone isn’t a good enough reason for wanting to be with them.” A pause. “But thank you. You... you amaze me too. You’re a good guy. Really good guy and you shouldn’t let baggage hold you back from getting someone better.”
