China’s Jilin-1 Earth Observation satellite passed over Cape Canaveral Air Force Station March 3 and captured the above image of the spaceport. The historic launch pads of ‘Missile Row’ can be seen parallel to the coastline. One of these, LC-13, can be seen redesigned as SpaceX’s Landing Zone-1. ULA’s Delta IV pad, SLC-37, can be seen in the upper left corner. The industrial hub of the Air Force station can be seen in center-left, housing numerous assembly and storage hangars, machine shops, and other facilities. Just south of here lies the skid strip, a 10,000 foot runway used to deliver payloads, heavy equipment, and even launch satellites to orbit. Recent ground work at Blue Origin’s SLC-36 is also visible. P/C: CASC.
