Ahh thank you so much!! Yeah, this is accurate, I definitely have a thing for sharp and bold lol. It’s extra prominent in the Locus one too because I wanted it to be really sharp, where as others (like the tucker) I try to tone it down a bit.

We were given development without the actual development being shown. They just handed us the changed characters because it was the end

This is exactly it! That confused me so much. 

We didn’t see hardly any of Locus’ breakdown, there was hardly any lead up to his identity crumbling. And then he suddenly betrays Felix when he finds out Felix’s fear, it made me assume that the only reason he betrayed Felix was because he thought Felix had wronged him, and not because of his internal conflict. Made me think that he blamed Felix for his actions. (especially since he refused punishment and left at the end)

But looking at it from another angle, that we were given him still struggling in one scene, and then with an entire change of character in the next, it makes so much more sense! Realizing that, I can actually accept that he does feel regret and guilt over Chorus, that he did face his fear.

I really wish they’d given us one more episode to show us his development, instead of handing him to us already changed. =//

The thing that still really bothers me is that he refused to take punishment for what he’s done, but I’m sort of waiting for next episode to see what he does. Excusing himself from genocide really didn’t help sell me on his supposed development, so I hope the next episode fixes that.

basically 

mikoshiba was a third year high school student last season aka last year, aka a senior or 12th grader (also known as 13th grader for some other places i guess)that means he has already graduated and hence the goodbye race in episode 1

he graduated last year and has just handed captainship over to rin (who is now a 3rd year, as is pretty common to hand over captainship to one of the older members in the club)

for reference, this/2nd season for the high schoolers:

graduated: mikoshiba

3rd years (senior): haruka, makoto, rin, sousuke

2nd years (junior): nagisa, rei, nitori, kou

1st year (sophomore): (+1 fans guess to be mikoshiba’s brother)
