Ok, get this: Sansa is Persephone (spring goddess/Queen of the Underworld) and Jon is Hades (dead man) but Jonsa is like an inverted Persephone myth: Jon has to go away up North for whatever reason near the end of ADoS and only returns to Sansa when spring comes.
Dear nonny,
I would like that! So, when Jon comes South, winter and the colds begin and he has to leave every spring... I sort of like that. It would fit with the title of the last book: A dream of spring, because Jon could only ever dream about spring.
I think I even read a fic once where Jon was only 'preserved' because of the cold and had to leave eventually... (Sorry, don't remember the title) I prefer that he'll return once winter comes...
The Jonsa fandom was up to something when they decided that Jon would return as Jim Frost to court the Queen in the North!
Thanks for the ask! I love these mythological parallels.
