Jim Reeves - Welcome To My World Album: A Touch of Velvet Album released: 1962 Label: RCA Victor Songwriters: Ray Winkler, John Hathcock Producers: Chet Atkins, Anita Kerr Genre(s): Country This was later released as a single in the United States in early 1964, landing a No. 2 spot on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart in the spring of that same year. It was to be Jim's last hits during his lifetime, as on July 31, 1964, he would unfortunately pass away much too soon in an aviation accident. I chose this song today in particular because it is a song I find in comfort in. Welcome To My World may be a love song lyrically. I don't see it that way. Jim's voice to me is the most soothing, and beautiful, in country and whenever I need a way to relax, his music is the perfect remedy.
