Rekindled Hope
by Jim Sims on Soul Restoration

Summary: Rekindled Hope plays along with long notes of some sort of Native American Flute. The flute stands by itself, leaving a very minimalist piece behind it. Jim Sims plays wistfully and drifts through his notes.

What part of the movie is it playing over: An old wooden building decays, the last building left standing in what has become a ghost town. ‘Ghost town’ is an accurate description because only the ghosts live their now, even though the living have left the Montana town long ago. Many of the ghosts stay there out of nostalgia for the western frontier it used to be. Some ghosts have left to explore other places, but our remaining protagonists are the ones who have settled here and tell stories at night.
We enjoyed a spectacular day on Martha’s Vineyard with Bob Higgins of Highland. Bob hosted us for lunch and a tour of Edgartown and Oak Bluffs (along with some of the fascinating history of the island). Then it was off to Bob’s house to meet with three of the most successful New England technology founders: Paul Severino (Interlan and Wellfleet), Bill Foster (Stratus), and Jim Sims (Concurrent and Cambridge Technology). For most of the teams, it was their first time on the Cape or any of the islands. For all, it was a well-needed break from all the time they’ve spent in the office. This video captures some of the key highlights of the day.
