it's really funny cause in developing daisy and getting attached to her/drawing her I've started to like her more than her husband 💀 jimmy is still beloved but nothing beats a sad woman who struggles with her purpose in life ✌️

Goop Casting #1 - Daisy

First session of Goop Casting! Where when I come up with a person/actor that has a good voice/look/vibe for a character, I yap about it.

This session, despite being the first, is surprisingly about more of a minor character in my au! That being Daisy, who's (regrettably) better known as Jimmy's wife!

And the actress I've given her is Stephanie J. Block! Or more specifically, Block's performance as Trina in the Falsettos Musical.

The reason I'm starting with her is because, in comparison to someone like Two Time or Azure,,, it didn't require as much thought lol. Kinda unceremonious, but it's easier for me to choose an actor for a smaller character, rather than one who's deeply personal to me.

Character Analysis/Comparison under the cut! Although admittedly this is less about the actress herself and moreso the character she portrays. This will likely be reoccurring, where an actor's portrayl of their character inspires/reminds me of mine. Or something like that.

Daisy in the original Last Guest, not even in just Forsaken which does her even worse, is.. not really a character. She's Jimmy's supportive wife who takes care of Charlotte while he's at war, and is wholesome and sweet, but very bland as far as characterization goes.

Trina in Falsettos is meant to parody this troupe of the submissive wife, as her husband ends up cheating on her with another man causing her to break down. And while Jimmy pointedly is not doing that, I do think Trina's feelings towards her husband/life reflect Daisy's. Honestly, I think her character writing in general is what inspired me when writing Daisy.

Instead of cheating, the main problem in their marriage is Jimmy neglecting his family because of his dissatisfaction with himself and the way his life is going. This leaves Daisy feeling hurt and upset, because in her mind she can't understand why he dosen't think their family is enough. Neither are evil, but you can tell that Jimmy is screwing her over far more than she is to him.

She was raised in the same orphanage that he was, and her whole life she's craved settling down, getting married and having a family without any worries or stress. Having a chaotic childhood just made her want a simple life—she was raised to want a nuclear family. This idealized version of a happy ending also came from how young girls are taught that this is what a perfect life is—being a perfect wife with a perfect husband. And that ideal ended up leading her throughout her life. So she married Jimmy, had a daughter, and for a while she had that life she always wanted.

Eventually Jimmy left to go to war, but she understood his cause and didn't object. She was supportive. So when he came back and overtime became unsatisfied with where he was, she felt betrayed. She loved him dearly, and was supportive and caring for his whole life and their whole marriage, only to be pushed to the side because of his lack of wanting to stop fighting for someone. He's spent so long fighting that he can't imagine stopping—but she can't understand why he wouldn't want to.

Back to Trina, her whole character arc is trying to keep together a broken marriage for the sake of her family, and then realizing that (in layman's terms) men ain't shit. Although Jimmy has a lot of knowledge and experience, he still has some of that immaturity and pride that a lot men have when they're unsatisfied. And Trina her whole life is constantly surrounded by immature men who she's expected to put up with and keep grounded because she's the woman. This is why she originally chases this, because she thinks it's a good thing because it's all she knows.

Daisy is very similar to this. She has to put up with a husband who (while he still loves her dearly) is becoming more distant in favor of a damned ex-cultist, and stubbornly can't take her perspective. She's been submissive and second to men her whole life, being pigeonholed as the "wife" and "mother" for ages, and so this is her realizing that the perfect nuclear family has just as many problems as any other type of family.

I'm still developing her, and I don't think that she and Jimmy will split, but to me she's a lot more complex than she seems. Very similar to Trina, she's surrounded by men who won't take her seriously and definitely needs some therapy.

Also since the acress I choose performs in a musical, rather than audio-clips for the voice claim, I have songs I can link to! Feel free to listen. I definitely think they're thematically similar, and gives a good impression on what I think she sounds like :)

i think reading that one vietnam book in my english class last year actually helped open up my eyes SOOOO much when it came to developing jimmy. i wanted to try and include some of that nuance and it actually drives me nuts but i think i appriciate his character more for it.

Like in the original last guest/forsaken, guest 1337 is.. pretty much perfect. he lived in robloxia so he was a war hero that everyone loved, who's only flaw was he wanted to save more people than he could. Honestly he's kinda a mary sue 😭

but translating that into like. The real world. I dont think it would be as black and white. War vets are treated pretty shittily, and often come back from the war worse than when they started. Thats where ptsd comes from and stuff. But also just because they suffered a lot, dosen't mean they cant be dickish. Especially if they dont get therapy or anything

So jimmy goes to war (probably in iran, considering the general timeline) as a young and hopeful soldier who wants to save people after he failed to save his parents. Like a more realistic batman origin story. He's a kind person at heart, and being able to save people (like his family back at home) would make him feel like his life has a real purpose. and so when he's honorably discharged after an incident where he took a bomb for someone, he returns home and expects to feel complete!

... but that's not really what happens. He saved his family. He saved his fellow soliders, and became someone with a truly great legacy. So that left him with a question: now what?

The war and being in the army had conditioned him to feel like he was only good enough when he was fighting for someone. And so that left him constantly restless. He LOVES being a husband and father, dont get me wrong. It's second nature to him. But that restlessness, over the course of a decade or so, ended up with him just feeling really dissatisfied and out of place. Like he was in a time that was passed where he felt like he was useful.

His arc reminds me a lot of Mr. Incredible (from the Pixar movie). An ex-hero with a wife and children who misses the time where he used to save people, and so he tries to relive his glory days but fails because he cant see what REALLY matters to him (aka Daisy and Charlotte).

Like he's not an evil person by any means. But he did a really shitty thing in neglecting his family to try and fix some ex-cultist.

Two Time just fell into his life at a really bad time 😭 like when he was feeling particularly nostalgic/restless—a dangerous combination. And so he tries to save them too. And for all intents and purposes, he does a pretty good job. But as he sees them gain friends and fix things with azure (as in "azure is actually willing to be on speaking terms with them again") largely without his help, he realizes how fleeting it all is and actually tries to be with his family again. And i think it would work! Him and daisy are soulmates idgaf

Anyway yeah idk where i was going with this but i think out of all my main 4 goops he's probably the most neglected by me cause i cant draw old men 😭😭😭 so heres this! Sorry jimjim

ranking my (main) goopies from least to most evil!! In my opinion

of course someone might disagree with me on my ranking depending on what their morality is,, so this is just imo. also I like it best when my characters are morally gray so no one on this list is like. The devil incarnate or anything. So this is more or less a list of "how their actions effect their character". Also no minor characters are included or else we all know Amarah and Isaak would be at the top of the list✌

#4 - Azurewrath

Probably the most "wrong time, wrong place" out of all of these guys. He's smart and had enough skepticism to sniff out he was in a cult when he was literally born into it, but he also has a fair amount of flaws. He's stubborn and holds grudges (although in his case it's probably valid), plus he has a LOT of unchecked problems with his anger. Thankfully he represses that instead of lashing out, so I can't really say he's evil for it, but I can see it becoming a problem later down the line. Even so, he honestly has a lot of kindness and sweetness in him, and is a very nurturing person overall. For all his skepticism, his only mistake was not seeing how bad Two Time was getting (and how they were a massive red flag) out of sheer love. You can't really blame him too much for what happened, nor his anger as a result of it.

#3 - Jimmy "Guest" Leet

Jimmy is a complicated character (everyone on this list is, but him especially). I haven't entirely finished writing him, but with the new lore that I've been adding as of late, I think he's earned his place at this spot. He's definitely not a bad person I'd say—he's a war hero, and a veteran who always tries to treat people well and help the world. Jimmy's more like a good guy who does bad things because his trauma from the war makes him not know when to quit. He no doubt loves his wife and daughter (he's very loving, and never cruel while he's with them), he's just become restless since he used to have such a "thrilling" life. However, this causes him to start neglecting his family more while searching for someone else to save, because he thinks that they're already saved. That's pretty evil, considering he already left them to go to war for nearly a decade. But he's not doing it to be evil, he's doing it because he thinks it's what's right when obviously it's not. His evilness is the result of his hubris, as any greek tragedy would corroborate.

#2 - Two Time

Oh, Two Time. Where do I even start with them? Their evilness is a result of them making one terrible mistake that's worse than anything most people will ever do—they attempted to sacrifice their partner and only failed because they were scared to be alone. However, because there's so many factors (undiagnosed physical and mental health issues, religious grooming, literally being in a cult, etc) this mistake dosen't make them an evil person, it just means that they're heavily flawed. They have love in their heart and love people, but can never escape their past. This bleeds into how even after Azure leaves them, they never fully move on from him because he was all they've ever known. Especially with how incredible he was to them, even if they weren't the best partner in return. Their fatal flaws are their desperation and fear of being alone, and so had they not formed strong friendships, they easily would have spiraled further. I don't like calling them evil, as I feel that would be partly demonizing mental illness and people who need care, but I fully believe that without people around them they would go back to how they were the winter before the stabbing—desperate to do anything to be saved by their God.

#1 - Kasey "Chance" Ventura

To preface this, I love Chance. I really do. But oh my goddddd he's such a dick before he gets character growth. He was raised as a spoiled nepo-baby—heir to his parent's casino, allowed to run around and do whatever as long as he brought some winnings home at the end of the day. This, predictably, caused him to lack many strong moral values. Due to his insane amount of luck, he became prideful and arrogant, which made him want to continue taking more and more risks. Messing with the mob, rigging casino games for his parents, and not having respect for anyone (with the exception of Lance) makes him pretty evil. Though at the same time, he loved his brother and parents dearly, and they were the only people he showed true kindness to. But all of that is ancient history, and largely a result of his environment. Where he currently is (after the attempt murder) is on the East Coast, identity disguised and working at a mental care facility—of course, being the one that Two Time is at. I think that him being around so many people who have it way worse than him would give him a wake up call, and he'd mellow out some because of it. He's still pretty dickish though.

twotimeverse pokemon trainer au!!!!

So this is basically my list of characters and what they're doing, since they now all live in the pokemon world pokemon in this au lol

Two Time: Not in a cult in this au, but rather a strick religious household. After their mother passed they were sent to live with their uncle (who was the leader of an evil pokemon god-worshipping team, but two time didn't know that until wayyy later). So they still act as nervously and naively as they do in canon since they were kept inside a lot rip. But they eventually met their pokemon partner mimiku by pure chance and their uncle begrudgingly let them keep it. They call it Mimi :)

Azalea: Two Time's gf. I just want ONE au where they can be happy guys let me have this ✌😭 anyway, she was Two Time's nextdoor neighbor turned lover! Azalea loveeessss pokemon and would often sneak into the professor's lab to see what she could find :0 she was given a wooloo when she was little but just wanted to learn about more lol. She ended up finding two pokemon eggs in the woods, which hatched into eevees!! She gave one to two time, and they ended up evolving into Espeon and Umbreon so they matched ‼ she works as the pokemon professor's assistant

Kasey: lowk kinda the same LOLL. From a family of very prestigious (yet very shady) trainers. He had a pikachu as a kid that evolved into a raichu while he was on vacation in alola, and it helps him cheat in gambling and stuff lol. Eventually he was given the family Victini (a mythical pokemon) and he became even more cocky after getting it 😭😭 it is CONSTANTLY tired of his bs bro 🙏 so it tries to run off which causes kasey, not wanting to lose his family pokemon, to fun after it. He ends up finding two time, and they both start travelling together :) kasey wanting to restore his family honor cause he can NOT return home without that thing, and two time wanting to spread the word of their god (they worship Spawnyxous, a pokemon that is only rumored to exist)

Jimmy and Daisy: Jimmy fought in the GREAT POKEMON WAR ‼‼😈 but before that, he was one of the elite four!! He had a powerful team of fighting/fire types, and was really respected ^^ his main pokemon was Arcainine!! He was married to Daisy, an ex-pokemon performer who gave up her dreams of stardom to marry Jimmy and raise their baby. Her and her Primarina were really well known in the town they lived in!! But then Jimmy had to go to war, yada yada, he came back and he was a changed man. He quit battling to become a nurse at the pokemon center, and overworks himself so much that he spends no time at home with his family </3 he meets two time and kasey and decides to join them on their journey to help heal their pokemon and keep them safe. Daisy is NOT happy about ts 💔

Charlotte: Charlotte wanted to be a pokemon master like her dad!! She has a bulbasaur and that's literally it, since after Jimmy left Daisy kinda refuses to let her leave the house. So she likes sneaking out at night and just wandering around trying to figure out ways to train even when she's not allowed ✊

Anyway that's all i have so far!!!!! But hopefully it sounds peak loll. I gotta come up with fun designs for it!!! Or maybe a fanfic? We'll see how passionate I am lol
