Based on the song "My House" by Flo Rida.
The white walls were bland, the clock ticked as slow as Christmas and my computer was a giant dinosaur that I'm surprised wasn't extinct. I yawned; my patience, not fully awake yet. My brain was making itsself a pot of coffee.
Ugh, Monday. The only thing I like about Monday is seeing my best friend Jim; and gloating about my win at our weekly Friday Monopoly game.
".... And in his best Michael Scott impression, Jim says; 'I declare bankrupcy!'" I told my friends and coworkers. Phyllis was laughing so hard she had tears in her eyes. Jim smirked at me from his seat next to mine at our desks. The one good thing about it being early is, Michael hadn't arrived yet.
" Oooh Y/N! Did you know they have come out with a 'Ms-Opoly'?" Faith asked. Oh Faith. Faith Schrute; Dwight's cousin and Mose's sister, who was also a sales woman. "It's supposed to be where women make more money than men when passing 'Go' and such. Stupid Feminists. " She rolled her eyes.
"Dunder Mifflin this is Pam." She held the receiver to her ear. 8 am was too early to be at work. None of us were awake enough yet "I'm sorry Mr. Scott isn't... " Pam was unable to finish her sentence because the door leading into the main hallway, bursts open; in comes Michael with a boom box on his shoulder and shades on. "Why is his tie around his forehead?" Jim asked me, stifling a laugh. " This is Michael. I'm not surprised." I joined in the laughter. Occasionally throwing in a weird look around the room to make sure Stanley and Angela were seeing the same thing I was.
'My House' by Flo Rida blared out of the boom box as Michael danced around Pam's desk. Grabbing the stapler, he opened it up and began shooting Staples across the room like it was a confetti gun. "Welcome to my house. Play that music too loud!" Michael yelled along to the music. Oscar ducked behind his desk while Kevin dove out of his chair trying to catch a staple. Needless to say, a big thud followed.
Hearing all the commotion, Toby came out of the back half of the office, started to say something, then turned around and went back into his office. I'm sure Michael will be getting a call from David Wallace by the end of the day, or first thing tomorrow morning.
My car beeped as I unlocked it. "Hey Y/N, wait up! I turned and smiled at Jim, who was jogging to catch up with me. "Today was crazy huh? " "Yeah." I opened the driver door, throwing my purse inside. "Yes it was." I sighed, standing back up to face Jim.
Those eyes. The lips I wanted to kiss, the hair I wanted to tangle my fingers in as we would deepen our kiss. But it could never be. "Well, see you tomorrow Jim." I smiled. He frowned just a bit. Only to smile once more, hoping I didn't see that chaste frown. "Be safe." He made sure I was in the car before closing my door for me. We exchanged a smile before I drove off.
THAT is my future husband....
