“Fab 5 Freddy told me everybody’s fly.” @fab5freddy @jimreddogmuir @dogtownskate at the opening reception of ARTMAGEDDON, featuring new works by @mrchuckd_pe at @subliminalprojects 📸 @juicedan #juicemagazine 👑👑 From East to West, when it comes to being revolutionary, these two define the word. In the ‘70s, Freddy and the Fabulous 5 were sharing art on the sides of subway trains and creating an explosive culture of “Wild Style”. As Fab 5 Freddy and Lee Quiñones transitioned graffiti from the streets of NYC into art galleries around the world, at the same time, Jim Muir, original Z-Boy, surfer and skateboarder, and surfer, skater, artist Wes Humpston were on the West Coast sharing visionary artwork on Dogtown skateboards, that has since gained legendary status. Fab 5 Freddy and Jim “Reddog” Muir have had a huge impact on music, art, surf and skate culture respectively, and are both still paving the way today. Last night, they joined an all star crew of VIPs to support the revolutionary, Chuck D, at his art show in, which is on display through Jan 26th at Shepard Fairey’s Subliminal Projects Gallery in Los Angeles, California. 100% Respect. 🔥🔥🔥 #fab5freddy #wildstyle #jimmuir #dogtownskate #chuckd #pioneers #inspiration #publicenemy #rap #art #graffiti #obey #obeygiant #shepardfairey #subliminalprojects (at Subliminal Projects) https://www.instagram.com/p/BsljuS1B6Jy/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=19qemuu2t8n36
