Extreme bummer to learn about the untimely death of Jim Stobe aka Stobe the Hobo. I was a big fan of his freight hopping videos across America and even supported his exploits on Patreon. He was super knowledgeable, funny and always in good spirits with whatever scenario he came across. We communicated with emails and texts and I hoped to meet up with him this weekend to check out the sights and grab beers since he was heading up to the NYC area. Unfortunately, the dangers of trains are very real and accidents often happen, even to an experienced freight pro like him. I’m shocked and saddened to hear the news. This is a drawing I did for Stobe earlier this year to use in one of his many videos. He really liked it and said he’d incorporate it somehow. I also gave him some shout outs on a few freights with monikers thinking he might randomly see them in his travels. On the bright side, he’s left behind so many great freight adventure videos on YouTube accompanied by his self played piano soundtracks which are all awesome. A one of a kind dude. He’s missed already. My condolences to his family and friends. Salute and rest in peace Stobe. Thx for the top notch videos and entertainment. 🙏🏼
