Frenzy
This was proving more difficult than he had anticipated.
His body was twitching and convulsing, his thoughts going places where he had never wanted them to go before. The screams he imagined were pleasant, sure, but the reason why they were screaming…. He shuddered, forcing his body to move around the city, which was suddenly swept with a wave of chaos. It was a sight to behold; monsters everywhere, zombies, spiders, bats… And yet, he felt compelled to go to sector one.
Kenji’s mind was blank, his feet dragging. The fake wings that had melted to his body twitching every so often, sending shocks to his brain that he couldn’t quite figure out yet. It hurt, everything hurt, and the former-banchou-turned-tengu wasn’t someone who was easily fazed by such things. His vision was hazy, his ears were ringing, as if controlled by strings like a puppet he was dragged to the trains which still worked somehow.
When he arrived at sector one he dragged himself past crawling costumes, giving them a void smile after passing them. Hands on his self-made fan, his geta resounding loudly through the streets. Kenji’s thoughts came back to him when he noticed a familiar figure, although in not-so-familiar gear.
Jin Kisaragi…
He wanted to call out to his ‘friend’, but something withheld him. Instinct, perhaps? There was something different about the blond for sure. The air around him, which normally felt like a cold breeze, now felt scorching hot.
This wasn’t the only thing that made Kenji back off, though. In the back of his mind, he started hearing a little voice. It sounded quite like him, but the things that it said made quite clear that this wasn’t him at all.
[Eat him. Eat this human. You’re hungry, you’re oh-so hungry….]
Shaking his head in disbelief, the costumed banchou took a step back, his eyes widening at the things happening within his head.
[You know you want to do it. Subdue him, then consume him. Do it, Isaki Kenji… You need it, Isaki Kenji…]
With some effort, he managed to push these thoughts away, regaining control over his body, which had swayed towards the costumed Jin. A pirate, huh… Caution had to be taken, but it was far too late to turn back now. He plastered a smile on his face and tried to speak with some familiarity, but he couldn’t help but feel something was awfully wrong with his fellow.
“Hey, seems like we were both caught up in this giant fluke, huh...?”
