In trying to help Scar, Cub accidentally created ‘Vehementus Elixir Xenozoa’, (VEX) commonly known as ‘Vex magic’, a drug that essentially turns you into a superhuman psychopath for several hours. Using this drug, they created alter egos ‘Jingler’ (Cub) and ‘Jangler’ (Scar), known as ‘The ConVex’. They stole a mansion in the forest, murdering the former owners, and started hosting lavish parties for others within Hermicropolis’s crime network (‘The Nether’). The first, everyone within The Nether was invited, no weapons allowed, and all the guests left with free diamonds and other valuables from the house. The next couple people were given invitations, with guests leaving possessing thousands of diamonds worth of assets, new connections, social status. The ConVex started gathering information on their guests. Their fears, their threats, their real identities.
At the fourth party, the ConVex started torturing and murdering some of their guests, locking everyone inside until the night was over. The survivors were still given money and status, told to keep their mouths shut, or they’d be hunted down and killed.
From then on, the ConVex became notorious. Even when word got out, people kept going to the parties, hoping to get The ConVex’s good favour, gain wealth, make deals with other gangs, allies, or rivals.
The police were left stupefied, unable to do anything.
