It had been a few weeks since he’d last seen her wandering and of course, shared his favorite secret with her - the diner situated just at the edge of town. It was something he hadn’t even told Wes about, but what was the point? It wasn’t like the boy could eat, anyway.
Regardless, he was both amused and relieved to find her there once again. It was the reason that grin was creeping up on features, clearing intending to play there all day if he’d let it. The expression was comforting, inviting almost as he’d slid into the booth, opposite her.
“If it isn’t my favorite little red riding hood. Where have you been hiding?”
