She says it way too often nowadays, it hits her, butshe’s willing to brush it off as not being a bad thing, though it’s the sort ofthing that would normally chip away at her already barely there confidence –she doesn’t particularly like having to askfor things. But he does, and he’s told her plenty times before, and whenhe doesn’t say it, he shows it, with teasing little pecks to her cheeks thatmake her bottom lip jut out into cute pouts that she hopes will get her point across. But no, that’s not right, becauseit’s not like he wouldn’t know whatshe wants. He does all too well, he just enjoys hearing her ask, and theinternal struggle that accompanies each such giving in.

He seems disinclined to indulge her still, and shepuffs her cheeks out, momentarily, all to prepared to start whining again: it’snot like she hasn’t done that before, too. Pride can wait, she’s got much moreimportant things to take care of. Obtaining that kiss, for example. “Jiwon-ah, 宝贝, that’sutterly unfair—“ She’s cut off this time when he tugs at her wrists to bringher closer, before letting go so his arms can wrap around her waist, and herfingers curl in the fabric of his shirt, tugging him just a little nearer.

Finally. The word is on her tongue when he finally finds herlips, but she drowns it into a small, delighted sigh, her own hands moving tosnake around his neck – as if to block his retreat, though the gesture is moresymbolic than anything. It’s sweet and tender – familiar but foreign in thesame time, and just intoxicating enough that she can feel a tinge ofdisappointment creeping up as soon as he makes a move to withdraw, so much sothat before he can properly do so, she bites down into the plush of his lower lip.Just enough for a little sting, gone before he’s got the time to react, becausethis time she’s the quickest to pull back, a glimmer of mischief in her eyes.

Who accidentally pushes a door instead of pulling/vice versa: Tzuyu, awkward turtle that she is. She’s probably too busy staring at him?

Who doodles little hearts all over the desk with their initials inside them: Still Tzuyu--

Who starts the tickle fights: Jiwon. She’d mostly just try to get away and run for her life?

Who starts the pillow fights: Tzuyu, probably as means of revenge for the first.

Who falls asleep last, watching the other with a small affectionate smile: Depends on schedules, I reckon. Probably Jiwon, though, because she’d fall asleep as soon as he starts playing with her hair.

Who mistakes salt for sugar: Tzuyu-- hopefully not the reverse as well, though, because that’d practically mean a full day in the kitchen.

Who lets the microwave play the loud beeping sound at 1am in the morning: Jiwon. Cue a very whiny, very clingy munchkin complaining her way into a new day.

Who comes up with cheesy pick up lines: Both, but mostly him - he’s got the smooth thing down way more than she ever could.

Who rearranges the bookshelf in alphabetical order: Tzuyu, but she also messes them up again just hours later, when she starts grabbing books she wants to read later on.

Who licks the spoon when they’re baking brownies: ...unless Jiwon can bake, no one, because she’s a disaster in that field, and she’s never been able to make an edible batch of brownies. Ever.

Who buys candles for dinners even though there’s no special occasion: Tzuyu, because she thinks they’re pretty--

Who draws little tattoos on the other with a pen: She’d probably ask him to do it for her, because she can’t really draw anyway, and she always wanted a tattoo, but 16 is too young to get one. Plus her PD wouldn’t allow it, most likely.

Who comes home with a new souvenir magnet every time they go on vacation: She’s not exactly the magnet type... plush toys, though. Souvenir plush toys. Everywhere.

Who convinces the other to fill out those couple surveys in the back of magazines: She would. Then get mad if the results don’t come out the way she wants them to. Just like she kind of does when she reads the horoscope and it disagrees with her.

〈 🍒 〉–– Nahyun used to do gymnastics when she was younger, accounting for her wide range of flexibility. However, she quit around middle school and focused on ballet (if this is considered a sport) instead. Other than those two, Nahyun also ran for her high school’s track and field and enjoys playing softball and lacrosse.

〈 🍒 〉–– It’s a crush she was so unsure of for a long time-- until he ended up liking someone else. Attraction and romance isn’t something Nahyun looks for but this one bit her hard. She feels bad for coming right out of the blue but it’s something she couldn’t help admitting, even if she knew he had someone else already. Still, she felt better since she confessed and she’s long realized she’s happy so long as he is with her.

Opia: The ambiguous intensity of looking someone in the eye, which can feel simultaneously invasive and vulnerable.

Altschmerz: Weariness with the same old issues that you’ve always had – the same boring flaws and anxieties that you’ve been gnawing on for years.

` ❀ —- There’s silence in the room that creeps into the surface, with Jiwon lending her the shoulder she didn’t deserve to borrow. And as much as she wants it to stop, the tears just keeps coming out, a feeling of despair welling and bubbling out of her constricted chest. You’re beautiful– and anyone who thinks otherwise isn’t worthy of you. There’s a familiar dull, throbbing, ache against the back of her eyes and she must have looked like a mess, breaking down in front of him at 2 in the morning.

She hisses faintly as a harsh sigh is draw from the pits of her lungs, teeth nipping against the flesh of her lips. She wouldn’t have known what she’d do had he not been there and inconsiderate enough it was for him, Nahyun is still thankful that Jiwon woke up to her call so early in the morning.

And even now that her sobbing has quieted down, she can still feel his gaze piercing through her. When Nahyun’s eyelids flutter open she begins to see red, and not from the heat racing through her cheeks, but in the flush blooming, tinting the flesh of her cheeks. He had been her first friend when she first moved into Hongik, moreso, one of the few who she considered to be more than good to her. Best friend, though this seems so little out of the contrary, when he bear so much value than that.

Yet he’s looking straight at her and she’s never been so utterly vulnerable. ❝ Don’t ever say those again. ❞ He told her sternly, finally breaking through the crystal silence. ❝ And this I’ll promise you– if you aren’t married by the age of fourty, I’ll be the one to marry you. ❞
