Inktober:Day#22 - The Blue Lady Here is another story with several varying iterations. I found one I was not so familiar with but have heard of the location. The Blue Lady legend has its origins in the first-half of the 19th century, when the area was being settled as a farming community. Supposedly, a farmer who lived on the north side of Proctor Road near Denton Road in Canton Michigan, discovered that his wife had been unfaithful. One night, in a drunken fit of anger, the farmer murdered his wife’s lover with an axe, which he then intended to use on his wife. However, she escaped on foot, carrying a lantern to light her way. Inktober:Day#18- Kuchisake Onna Kuchisake Onna (Slit_Mouthed Woman) is a malevolent figure in Japanese lore. She's described as the malicious spirit, or onryō, of a woman, she partially covers her face with a mask or other item and carries some sort of sharp object, usually scissors. She's known as a modern Yokai. According to the legend, she asks potential victims if they think she is attractive. If they respond with "no", she will kill them with her weapon. If they say "yes", she will reveal that the corners of her mouth are sliced from ear to ear, and she will then repeat her question. Inktober:Day#15- Half Hanged Mary. Well before the Salem witch trials began, Mary was accused of witchcraft, taken to Boston and put on trial. She was acquitted, but evidently the locals didn't accept the verdict. They strung her up anyway. This was before they had invented the drop, which breaks your neck. So they just pretty much hoisted her up like a flag and left her up there all night to die. In the morning they came to cut down the corpse, and she was still alive. So if they thought she had supernatural powers they must've definitely believed after seeing that.
