To me, I found those first scenes of Eleven trying all the different foods HILARIOUS and exactly what I needed after the heart wrenching goodbye from Ten. Eleven definitely grew on me though. So much.
I thought it was hilarious too, up until the fish and custard haha And I really like how Eleven and River interact, I forgot to mention that.
It's just a lot of new stuff to take in all at once:

New intro song
New sonic screwdriver
New logo
Lots of new stuff. It's a lot different from the transition from Nine to Ten haha

At first I really didn't like Eleven, he just seemed like a jerk to everyone, and that fish sticks and custard thing was disgusting.
But I like him more now. But still not as much as the tenth Doctor. I feel like he had a stronger relationship with everyone he came in contact with, and I don't think Eleven connects as much with people.
At least not yet. I mean, I can see that he's connected to Amy in some weird way, but I just feel like it's that deep yet.
