—— full name: Jocastia Molly Silverwright

—— gender & sexuality: Female / Pansexual
—— ethnicity & species: Human
—— birthplace & birthdate: Old Town, Stormwind / 14 February
guilty pleasures: Jo loves cheap romance novels, but she also used to sit at a table at the Wayward Son and read them on unit bar nights, so probably not so guilty a pleasure per se. She also likes to play the penny whistle she got with her daughter, but would never do that around other people, probably.
phobias: Squid. Nearly get killed by a kraken at sea and you’ll worry about them too. She likes to eat the little baby octopuses the night elves serve as some kind of revenge. Imps might be one too, but to a lesser degree.
what they would be infamous for: Jo is famously impulsive. That might be her most obvious trait. She’s also a big fan of eating, not wearing a hell of a lot of clothes and not wearing her tabard when she’s supposed to.
what have they / would they have gotten arrested for: Jo was arrested for piracy, murder, and treason. The treason charge didn’t stick. She’s on “good” terms with the Navy now, in any case.
character you ship them with: @mindspanner - Shock!
character most likely to murder them: @graceintheshadows or @shadewhisper
favorite book genre: Science, arcane theory, adventure novels, cheap romance.
least favorite book cliché: When people fall in love instantly with no rhyme or reason! Why! How?
talents & / or powers: Jo specializes in soul manipulation and, to a lesser extent, shadow and void magic. Her core competency derives from extrapolating arcane theory to demonic-derived sources and themes with a higher emphasis on utility than other warlocks. She is a seasoned sailor and an adequate swordsman and pistoleer.
why someone might love them: She is smart and caring and resourceful. She will generally be the one to ask what’s next or how can we keep moving forward.
how they change: Difficultly. She often has to be disastrously proven wrong before she’ll grow through it.
tagging: I think literally everyone I know was already tagged, but do it anyway.
Jo in the rigging. Doing a sketch (most) every day. My art!
Sea Change
“What have you done?” The study, such that it was, was darker now, but only slightly, as if a lamp in another room had been put out. The faint unearthly scent of brimstone had cleared. It had been there so long it was noticeable only in its absence.
The Fall stared out its prison, a boarded up closet beneath the stairs, waiting for a reply. Jocastia was too distracted to answer. Where had that book gotten to? She’d brought it home from the library just an hour ago. She pored over the items on her father’s desk, though it couldn’t just be lost. It was far too big to--
“Answer me, girl,” the great serpent hissed. It was a being of infinite patience, but seemed to disregard that sentiment in the moment. She looked up finally, and spun around, ruffles on her dress whirling behind her.
“It’s gone,” she said. “The book.” Jocastia hopped from her father’s chair, spilling the contents of an inkwell onto the polished wooden floor. Sudden realization came over her like a wave and she rushed over to the closet door, treading right through the black ink and leaving small shadowy footprints behind her that wavered faintly. “It’s gone. They took it away.” She paused, wary. “Why are you still here?”
Huge eyes, pale as moonsteel, watched her unblinkingly from the cracks in the door. The Fall’s mouth opened in a grotesque smile, showing its dozens of razor teeth. “Ah, child. You presume I came to you with that book.” All she could do was watch as the snake’s eyes closed in mirth. “Worry not, young Jocastia. I was with you before that curse, as I shall remain.”
She shook her head, sending out streamers behind the bows that contained her hair. “I don’t understand.”
The Fall turned to press an eye against the closet door. “You will.” After a pause, the serpent slid backward into the shadows. “You will embrace me eventually.” Silence.
Jo woke with a start. She winced as the pain from her stab wound caught up with her. She was there, in the infirmary, where she was supposed to be. It was a dream. But she knew it was real.
She worked to get herself dressed and move on to present matters, but The Fall slithered on in the shadows of her mind.

5. How do they dress? What styles, colors, accessories, and other possessions do they favor? Why?
Jo hates clothes that are restricting or difficult to move around in. Heavy robes, shirts with tight cuffs, things like that. She likes purple, of course, and red. Loose tops, short sleeves and shorts, sandals. She likes messy ponytails and always parts her hair to the left. She used to wear a lot more jewelry, cheap stuff mostly, like bangles and more earrings, but they tend to be impractical.
7. How do they physically engage with other people, inanimate objects, and their environment? What causes the differences between these?
She gives people space until she knows them well enough. Then she poke and prod and (nicely) punch them. It’s fun and she likes to see what kind of reaction she’ll get. Most places, she thinks, are built for her to climb on and explore, and inanimate objects often get turned over to be examined. She’s just forever curious.
