Joan Lancaster
for @plumbob-pudding's Henford Ladies' College
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Dear Ms. Crumplebottom,
I am writing to submit an application on behalf of my stepdaughter, Joan, as her father and I believe she will be a lively addition to your esteemed institution.
Joan has a keen love of literature and a fondness for spending time outdoors. She enjoys horseback riding, locating and identifying frogs, and hiding said frogs amongst unsuspecting guest's bedsheets. Despite her penchant for mischief, she is quite dedicated to her academic pursuits and wishes to study at university one day.
While we will miss her dearly here, we do believe your distinguished school will provide Joan with the environment she needs to become a proper lady.
Please find all of her supporting documentation enclosed.
Yours Gratefully,
Vera Lancaster
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Joan Lancaster has spent her entire life in the picturesque countryside of Kent. She spent her childhood reading in the shade or romping through the meadows with her horse Ruby. As an only child of an aristocratic family, she was exceptionally close to both of her parents. But when her mother died unexpectedly, her father, Arnold Lancaster changed entirely. Desperate for a son who could inherit his estate, he remarried within the year.
Joan’s wry humor and well-meaning pranks have already started to create tension between the newlyweds (much to her delight). After a particularly heated incident involving Vera's wedding gown and one of the goats the new Mrs. Lancaster has insisted on a proper education for their dear girl.
How will Joan fare away from the comforts of home for the first time? And will her goofball antics win over her classmates, or land her in hot water?
