Last Line Tag

This is from draft 2 of Jock. The most significant change from draft 1 is the addition of several new characters because I forgot to give the soccer team names last time and didn't realize until the second to last chapter. Anyway, now they have names and affect the plot. Also ik the dialogue format is weird because I write a lot of it and it's annoying to format.
Chris is holding the door for me. I motion for him to go in first. He doesn't. Instead, he sort of smiles, and I sort of smile, and my chest feels a little weird. I go in instead of trying to analyze that.
Teacher: okay, I'm going to assign your seats.
The first thing she does is put Chris across the room. Fuck. I know it's stupid, it's not like I know him super well or even that we're friends yet, but it's not like I know anyone else here either.
The teacher gets to me fairly soon.
Teacher: Eliott, over there in front of Thayer.
Oh, fun.
