HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!¡¡¡!!
AAHHH THANK YOU!!!
Do you have any tips for someone who wants to write a Zelda fanfiction?
Get obsessed with your favorite character and think about them all the time XD
But is there anything in particular you're struggling with 🤔 like plot, characterization, ideas
I feel like Zelda is good at giving us cool concepts but not fully exploring them XD like the twilight realm or all the creepy stuff in ikana or the split between the sheikah and yiga. I usually find one that makes me go "wait you cant just drop that on me then never talk about it again!!" and try to fill in the blanks
Hey Clock! I'm curious, how did you decide which blood color each character would become? Was that a hard decision?
Oh yeah that, well I did make them quite a long time ago but they all tie back into their cornerstones! Everyone who has talked to me about my characters before knows I based each of them off of a theme.
Sauron is death so in my head he needed to be rust, closest to death, and a really deep red rust at that, close to black but obviously not black cuz that would cause problems.
Falmea comes from fire so when I think of fire I think bright red so she has a pretty bright red for her (not candy mind you she's just a bit brighter than normal rust).
Cyrusk is based on myths and legends so I went with the color of those ancient greek clay pots that have all the myths and legends painted on them. That's why he has a more reddish orange than the canon bronze.
Cybele is life and of course life is most associated with the color green! So I gave her a nice warm leaf green olive.
Majell being ice was the opposite to falmea but in mood more over literal opposite and ice and snow and the cold has always been attached to a light blue, and that's what she was given.
Helstm was based off strm and the sea which was a dead ringer for a seadweller and thus he ended up with violet blood.
you may be able to see a few references in their names and designes just by knowing what their cornerstones are now.
I wonder, are you calling Bendy bean because his body is shaped like one or is this some english slang or other meaning I´m not aware of (something like I´m blue= means the emotion not the color)?
Calling someone a bean means they’re precious, but I am also referring to his body shape. Haha.
🎤For Geheros lusus, please. How was Gehero in his grubhood? Was he always a calm troll?
You hear the spider hiss with laughter.
No. (No.) Gehero was a... (Gehero was a...) Monster. (Monster.) He broke bones... (He broke bones...) Spilled blood.... (Spilled blood....) and killed his fair share of prey. (And killed his fair share of prey.)
The boy you know... (The boy you know...) stained his hands with blood.... (stained his hands with blood....) Before they were cleansed with soil. (Before they were cleansed with soil.)
As a grub... (As a grub...) And now... (And now...) Are the only times he was safe.... (Are the only times he was safe...) To be around. (To be around.) Be glad... (Be glad...) You know him now. (You know him now.)
Frank didn’t begin to grow in popularity until the 1950s. That song specifically was released 1964! Unfortunately Noir doesn’t have a clue who he is
Before I begin to write the next chapter of the fanfiction I have two question: First one for chapter two. Does Jori the zora have a gender (I know you tagged they/them, so how should I handle it? Second question for chapter one. How was the part with Davie? I hope I did it right.
Jori is a river Zora - they spend most of their time out and about fishing to keep the Domain’s food stores well-stocked. When they’re not working, they strike out and swim downriver, following the waterways of Hyrule sometimes for days doing odd jobs for the people they meet along the way. They’re fascinated by settlements and the people who live there, but most comfortable in quiet, smaller settlements or nature. Cities are very interesting, but easily overwhelming. They can barely handle the Zora’s Domain itself, sometimes.
As far as gender is concerned, please don’t try to “handle it”. Jori is completely indifferent on the matter, and their coy avoidance of questions about it is a bit of mischief on their part. Well, sort of. They don’t really talk at all but even if they did they still wouldn’t answer the question.
For settlements in the Lanayru province, Hylians and members of the other nonaquatic races are used to dealing with Zora and don’t bother questioning it: “Oh, that’s Jori. They don’t talk much but they drive a hard bargain.” The farther from the province they swim, the more likely the members of a town or stable are to assume they’re one or the other - and Jori just doesn’t bother correcting them.
Jori’s noticed though that the closer they are to a population accustomed to the Goron or Gerudo, the more likely the people there are to assume they’re male or female respectively. It’s an amusing game to play.
I went on a bit of a lore dump there. But yeah. If you plan on doing anything with Jori:
Selective Mute - Still vocalizes otherwise but tends not to speak.
They/Them - Please don’t try to “handle” the gender thing. Anyone who knows Jori knows that as far as they’re concerned they’re neither. Strangers are likely to assume, but won’t get corrected. If anything, folks who assume they’re one or the other might get an amused chuckle or roll of the eyes.
Friendly, but cautious - Jori’s the calm and cautious type, but very curious.
Clothing is optional. Zora in the Domain do wear armor and jewelry, but for a River Zora that works mostly doing intense swimming and physical labor such things snag on terrain and get in the way. The farther they get from the Domain though, the more likely it is for folks to point out the bare scales as unusual. Jori keeps a long cloth handy when they travel out of Lanayru that they can wear to cover up or keep damp out of the water. Depending on mood or locale they’ll either drape it like a loose cloak, or tuck it into their belt and wrap it around themselves sort of similar to a saree.
Also I just realized I don’t think I ever posted Jori to this account properly. Once I answer this ask I’m going to dig them up and re-post here. :)
(For #2, I did give it a read! Takes getting used to seeing characters in that sort of environment though. :) )
one question regarding your sona Spud. Do you have 2 sonas (the little one and the human sized one) or are this two one and the same?
They’re both me technically, I just tend to switch back and forth depending on what's convenient. The smaller Spud is my most utilized, it's simple and has an easily recognizable shape to it. The larger version is more for serious topics or to set a different tone. Gremlin is more mischief and mayhem with a touch of idiocy. Human-sized is sassy with a endearing touch.
