“Alright, alright I gotta know” said Seth as he took a sip of his coffee. “How good of a psychologist are you?” Seth asked as he sat down across from the man. “You’re Joel, right? Xavier’s husband?” he questioned. “As for the first question, I’m mostly curious to why a dude who helps people vacations on a party island?” he joked a little.

ah. mateo juggled the pastries he was holding and bolted to the back as he’d done every day this week. he wasn’t ready to face these vampires that were what? maybe a friend? he didn’t even know. he’d been too open and he had to stop. but he couldn’t ignore him forever either so he just took a deep breath and took out another tray to set into the case. ‘what’re you having, then? hurry up, i’ve got things to do.’ he muttered under his breath, not even raising his eyes.

she’d made herself comfortable on one of the sofa chairs in the other’s bookstore. it was a good, quiet place when she couldn’t handle the chatter. mainly, when she could no longer be caring for every wolf she finds. even alphas needed a break and the company of the quiet vampire was too good of an opportunity to pass up. ‘hey j, you got a book on controlling wolf pups? i could use that.’ she sat up, rubbing her eyes in a way that wouldn’t mess her kohl and let out a deep breath. ‘what are you working on?’ she asked, these being her first proper words spoken to him since she’d entered his shop a couple hours ago. she fussed with her scarf, making sure to keep her scars hidden before meeting his eyes with a tired smile.
