Part 2/3 - Chapter 6 of my Monster sequel comic. It reads from right to left.
Part 2 of 3 of Chapter 6 of my Monster sequel comic.

This chapter touches on some sensitive themes. I wanted to portray a criminal without sugarcoating him by giving him only a minor crime, so I tried to think of something that would genuinely horrify me. I apologize in advance if I may not have handled the subject with the sensitivity it deserves.
With this chapter, I wanted to show Johan's point of view and what drives him.
I drew these pages a few years ago, so please forgive the occasional awkward-looking drawings. Looking back, I think I could have done a better job conveying Johan's more ambiguous expressions. I hope my intentions still come across.
This is where I finally lay my cards on the table. In my interpretation, the key to any possible redemption for Johan in this comic would be Tenma and Nina. But it wouldn't be easy, because people don't change that easily. And, of course, there's also the question of how Yvonne (the librarian from the canon) will react when (if I ever manage to get there) she discovers the truth about Johan, since at this point she has absolutely no idea who he really is.
